ਹੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰ ! ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ ।
O Inner-knower, Searcher of Hearts, O Primal Being, Architect of Destiny: please fulfill this yearning of my mind.
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਇਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਹ ।੪।੫।
Nanak, Your slave, begs for this happiness: let me be the dust of the feet of the Saints. ||4||5||
ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ) ਸੂਝ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੰੁਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ) ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਕਾਲਪੁਰਖ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ
Through them, understanding has entered my mind, and I have met the All-knowing Lord God.
ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਸੁਜਾਣ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ) ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ ।੪।੪।੭੪।
Nanak sees the Lord always with him-the Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||4||4||74||
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਲੱਭ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਖ਼ਾਹਸ਼ਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਦੁਨੀਆਵੀ ਵਾਸਨਾਂ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਦੌੜਨੋਂ ਹੱਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ)
The desires of the mind are fulfilled, when the Treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is obtained.
ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ
The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, is always with you; recognize Him as the Creator.
ਹੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ! ਤੂੰ ਜੋ ਸਾਡਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ (ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਮਾਲਕਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਿਰਦ ਪਾਲ, ਆਪਣੇ ‘ਪਤਿਤ-ਪਾਵਨ’ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖ)
You are my Master, the Inner-knower, Searcher of hearts.
ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਪਛਾਣ ਲਈਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਤੋਂ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਪਰਖ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।੨।
The servant is known by his God, and the Lord and Master is known by His servant. ||2||
ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ! ਮੈਂ ਜਿਧਰ ਜਿਧਰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਉਧਰ ਉਧਰ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੈਂ
Wherever I look, there I see my Lord and Master.
ਹੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ! ਤੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ
You are permeating each and every heart, O Lord, Inner-knower, Searcher of Hearts.
ਉਹ ਸਦਾ‑ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ।
In all places and interspaces, the True One is pervading.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ! ਉਸ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸੁਜਾਨ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।੪।੩੭।੪੪।
O Nanak, meditate forever on the True One, the Searcher of hearts, the Knower of all. ||4||37||44||
ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ! ਹੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ! (ਤੇਰਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੀ) ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਜਪ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The tongue lives by chanting and meditating on the Lord's Name.
ਹੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ! ਹੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ !
The Supreme Lord God is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ! ਸਾਡੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਭੀ ਕੀਹ ਹੈ ? ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ) ਸਭ ਤੇਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ
You made them all; You are all-pervading. You are the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਅਸੀ ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਜੀਵ (ਤੈਥੋਂ ਆਕੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਕੀਹ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ ? ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ! ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਖੇਲ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ।
What can these wretched creatures do? This whole drama is Yours, O Lord and Master.
ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ) ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
Our Lord and Master is the One who acts, and causes others to act.
ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ।੩।
He is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of all hearts. ||3||
ਹੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ,
Show Mercy to me, O God, O Searcher of hearts.
ਹੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ! ਹੇ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਸੁਆਮੀ !
The Unseen Lord and Master is the Treasure of Peace.
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ) ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।
My Friend is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਉਹ ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ, ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ ।੩।
He is the All-powerful Being, the Supreme Lord and Master. ||3||
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ ! ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਉਹ) ਮਾਲਕ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ,
The Lord Master is totally pervading everywhere.
ਨਾਨਕ (ਭੀ) ਉਸ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੪।੬੨।੧੩੧।
Nanak sings the Praises of the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||4||62||131||
ਹੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ! ਹੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ! ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ !
O Supreme Lord God, Infinite Lord and Master,
ਹੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ! ।੩।
You are the Inner-knower, the Searcher of all hearts. ||3||
(ਹੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ !) ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ) ।
You are All-powerful, You are my Lord and Master.
ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ । ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
Everything comes from You; You are the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ! ਆਖ—ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ! ਅਸੀ ਜੀਵ ਨਾ-ਸ਼ੁਕਰੇ ਹਾਂ ।
Says Nanak, I have been unfaithful to my own nature.
ਹੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ! ਸਾਨੂੰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਲੈ ।੪।੭੬।੧੪੫।
Please forgive me, O God, O Searcher of hearts. ||4||76||145||
ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ
Forever and ever, meditate on God, your Lord and Master.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ! (ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰ ਤੇ ਆਖ)—ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ! ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ! ਹੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਹਰੀ ! (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਮਿਲ ।੪।੮੨।੧੫੧।
O Nanak, meet with the Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||4||82||151||
ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਜਿਧਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਧਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ
Wherever I go, my Lord and Master is with me.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ !) ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਆਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ।੪।੮੯।੧੫੮।
Nanak has met the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||4||89||158||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਦਰ ਤੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰ ਤੇ ਆਖ—) ਹੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ,
Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of God, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts;
ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼) ।੪।੧੦੮।
he grasps the Support of God, his Lord and Master. ||4||108||
ਹੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਸਰਧਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ ।

God is All-knowing, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ, ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਤਾਣ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ ।੪।੫।੧੪੩।
You are Nanak's strength and support. ||4||5||143||
ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੁਣ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ, (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਦਾ) ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ (ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਿਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ)) ਕੌਲ-ਫੁੱਲ ਖਿੜ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤਿਵੇਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਦੇ ਚਾਨਣ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ।
My doubts have been dispelled, and I have found intuitive peace and tranquility through my Lord and Master. I have been enlightened, and my heart-lotus has blossomed forth.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਖਸਮ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤੇ (ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਦਾ) ਇਹ ਸੁਹਾਗ ਕਦੇ ਦੂਰ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ।੪।੪।੨।੫।੧੧।
I have obtained God, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, as my Husband; O Nanak, my marriage shall last forever. ||4||4||2||5||11||
ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ।
O Creator Lord, Cause of causes, O Lord and Master,
ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਹੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ!
Inner-knower, Searcher of all hearts:
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ,
He Himself is the Master of both worlds.
ਉਹ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਪ ਜਗਤ-ਖੇਡ ਖੇਡਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ (ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
He plays and He enjoys; He is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੇਲ ਆਪ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ,
He Himself knows His own ways.
ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ।
The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, is present everywhere.
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ (ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ) ਕਬੂਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤਾਹੀਏਂ) ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਮੁਬਾਰਿਕ ਹੈ ।
Blessed is His service; His servant is famous.
ਉਹ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਘਟ ਘਟ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ,
The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, is the most exalted Supreme Being.
ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਕ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਉਸੇ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਵਾਪਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
He is the Treasure of Excellence, the Lord of the Universe; through the Guru, He acts.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸਿਆਣਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਸਰੂਪ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ ।
God, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, is All-knowing, Unseen and Immaculately Pure.
ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ, ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ, ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਖਸਮ ਜੀ ਵੱਸ ਰਹੇ (ਜਾਪਦੇ) ਹਨ;
God, the Lord and Master, is totally permeating the water and the land.
ਮੈਂ ਜਿੱਧਰ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਓਧਰ ਘਟ ਘਟ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ (ਦਿੱਸਦਾ) ਹੈ ।੩।
Wherever I look, there is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||3||
ਮੱਸਿਆ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ (ਵਰਤ-ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਆਦਿਕ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ) ਆਸਾਂ ਦੂਰ ਕਰੋ,
On the day of the new moon, give up your hopes.
ਘਰ ਘਟ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਓ ।
Remember the Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
(ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ?) ਜੋਗੀ, ਜੰਗਮ ਆਦਿਕ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਰਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਜੇਹੜੀ ਮਤਿ ਇਸ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਉਧਰ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਤੁਰਦੀ ਹੈ ।
The Yogis, the wandering Jangams, and all the world is Yours, O Lord. According to the wisdom which You give them, so do they follow their ways.
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਹੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਡੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ।੪।੯।੬੧।
O Lord God of servant Nanak, O Inner-knower, Searcher of hearts, please link my mind to You. ||4||9||61||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਖੋਟਾ ਰੁਪਇਆ ਸਰਾਫ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰੇ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਖੋਟ ਪਰਤੱਖ ਦਿੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ;
He stands exposed, like a counterfeit coin, when inspected by the Lord, the Assayer.
(ਤਿਵੇਂ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਤਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਬਾਹਰੋਂ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਭੇਖੀ) ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪਾਸੋਂ (ਆਪਣਾ ਅੰਦਰਲਾ ਖੋਟ) ਲੁਕਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ, ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਰਤੂਤ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ।੩।
The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, knows everything; how can we hide anything from Him? ||3||
ਹੇ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ (ਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਾ) । (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
Show Your Mercy, O God, O Searcher of hearts, that in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I might obtain You, Lord.
ਸਾਡੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਵੱਜੇ ਹੋਏ) ਭਿੱਤ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਮੁੜ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਈਦਾ ।੧।
When You open Your Door, and reveal the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan, the mortal is not relegated to reincarnation again. ||1||
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਤੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕਰਾਣ ਦੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ
He is the Creator, the Cause of causes, the Searcher of hearts.
(ਇਤਨੇ ਖਲਜਗਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੰੁਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਭੀ) ਮੈਂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੪।੧੩।੬੪।
Nanak's Lord and Master celebrates in bliss. ||4||13||64||
ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੜ ਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
The Lord Master, the Searcher of hearts, blesses me with salvation in my life; He Himself attaches me to His Love.
ਉਹ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇ੍ਰਸ਼ਟ ਨਾਮ-ਰਤਨ ਪਰਗਟ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ।
The Lord is the treasure of jewels, the perfect manifestation; He shall not forsake us to go anywhere else.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਰਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਖੇਡ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ । ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ ।
God created the expanse of the universe, God created the play of the world. His humble servants call Him the Lord of the Universe, the treasure of virtue.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ, ਉਹ ਹਰੀ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ।੩।
Meditate in remembrance on the Lord Master, the Searcher of hearts; O Nanak, He is the One, pervading and permeating all. ||3||
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦਾ) ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ । ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ।
You Yourself are the Giver, O God, Inner-knower, Searcher of hearts; by Your Grace, You have infused longing for You in my mind.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ । ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ।੨।
My mind and body long for the Lord; God has fulfilled my longing. I have entered the Sanctuary of the True Guru. ||2||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈ
God is perfect - He is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
(ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ (ਵਜੋਂ) ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
He blesses us with the gift of the dust of the feet of the Saints. ||1||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਹੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਹੈਂ
You are the Great Giver, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਤੂੰ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈਂ ।੧।
God, the Perfect Lord and Master, is permeating and pervading in all. ||1||
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ (ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ।
O Lord, Har, Har, I adore the feet of those who meditate on the True Guru, and the Almighty Lord God.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ! ਤੂੰ ਵੱਡਾ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਮੇਰੀ ਇਹ ਤਾਂਘ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ ।
You are the Greatest Giver, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; please, reward my faith, O Lord King.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿਤਾ, ਉਹ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਉਘੜ ਪਿਆ ।
He meets his Lord and Master, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; His body is ever-new, and His color is ever-fresh.
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ—(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ-ਹਰੀ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਵਾਂ-ਨਰੋਆ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਨਵੇਂ ਚੋਜਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ ।੨।
Nanak chants and realizes the Naam; he begs for the Name of the Lord, the Lord God. ||2||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਤੇਰਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ-ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਦੀ ਸਾਰ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ ।
Everything is Yours, O Inner-knower, Searcher of hearts; You are the Lord God of all.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਦਾਤਿ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈਂ । ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਐਸਾ ਜੀਵ ਨਹੀਂ (ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ) ।੫।੯।
He alone receives the gift, unto whom You give it; O servant Nanak, there is no one else. ||5||9||
(ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇਹੜਾ) ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਰਾਖਾ ਹੈ
He is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, the Creator, my Lord and Master.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ।੨।
I have become fearless, attached to the Guru's feet; I take the Support of the Name of the One Lord. ||2||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਾਰੇ ਸਰੀਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਜੀਵ ਦੀ ਲਾਲਸਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਹੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।
As is the hunger, so is the fulfiller; He is the Lord and Master of all hearts.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਸ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਆਪ) ਆ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ।੪।੫।੧੬।
Nanak thirsts for the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan; he has met God, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||4||5||16||
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਈ ਗੁਰੂ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਾ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ,
God is the Doer, the Cause of causes, the Great Giver; God is the Supreme Lord and Master.
ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਉਸੇ ਦਇਆ-ਦੇ-ਘਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
The Merciful Lord created all beings; God is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||1||
ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਵਾਲੀਏ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ) ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ,
The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, knows.
(ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਬੋਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਪੀੜਾ ਨੂੰ) ਸਮਝ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੩।
Without our speaking, He understands. ||3||
ਹੇ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ
The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, has granted His Mercy;
, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ ।੪।੮।੫੮।
slave Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of his Lord and Master. ||4||8||58||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ) ਹਰੇਕ (ਆਤਮਕ) ਹਾਲਤ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ । (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ) ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸ ਪਾਸ (ਆਪਣੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ) ਆਖ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ
The Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, knows all about my state of mind; so who else should I go to and speak to?
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਿਰੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ । (ਕਰਣੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉਹ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The Lord, the Lord of the Universe, is not pleased by mere recitation of words; if it is pleasing to His Will, He preserves our honor.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਪੱਕਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ
O Saints, I seek the True Sanctuary of the Lord and Master.
ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।ਰਹਾਉ।
All beings and creatures are in His hands; He is God, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕਰਾ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ (ਸਦਾ ਲਾਜ) ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The Lord is the Cause of Causes, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; He preserves the honor of His servant.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ) ਸੁਆਦ ਚੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾ (ਸਾਰੇ) ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ।੧।
He is hailed and congratulated throughout the world, and he tastes the sublime essence of the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ (ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ)
You are the support of my mind and body, O Beloved; You are the support of my mind and body.
। ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ । ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਵੇ ।ਰਹਾਉ।
There is no other Creator except for You, O Beloved; You alone are the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ, ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ, ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼-ਰੂਪ ਹੈ । ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਸਦਾ) ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ
The all-powerful Divine Lord is compassionate, O Beloved; He is the Support of His devotees.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਭਗਤ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਸਿਆਣਾ ਹੈ
I seek His Sanctuary, O Beloved; He is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਤੱਖ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ
I seek the Sanctuary of the feet of the Perfect Transcendent Lord, the Searcher of hearts; I behold Him ever-present.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ) ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ, (ਤੇ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ) ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਫੁਟਦਾ ਕੋਮਲ ਅੰਗੂਰ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਸੜਨ ਤੋਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ ।
In His wisdom, the Lord has made Nanak His own; He has preserved the roots of His devotees. ||2||2||26||
ਪਰ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਸਭ ਕੁਝ) ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ
People try to deceive others, but the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, knows everything.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਲਾਲਚੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵਿਰਕਤਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਾਪ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਫਿਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਮੁੱਕਰ ਭੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ
They commit sins, and then deny them, while they pretend to be in Nirvaanaa. ||1||
ਹੇ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਆਏ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਜੋਗੇ! ਹੇ ਅਕੱਥ! ਹੇ ਅਗੋਚਰ! ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।
O Lord of Sanctuary, all-powerful, imperceptible and unfathomable - Your Name is the Purifier of sinners.
ਹੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ! ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ ।੨।੨।੫੮।
The Inner-knower, the Lord and Master of Nanak is totally pervading and permeating everywhere; He is my Lord and Master. ||2||2||54||
ਜੋ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਬੰਧਨ ਕੱਟਣ ਦੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ
The Lord Master is the Breaker of bonds.
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ (ਭੀ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ
Servant Nanak meditates in remembrance on the Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||2||3||57||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ! ਹੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ! ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਸੁਜਾਨ! ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ, ਮੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ
Dispel my doubt, and save me, O my Beloved, all-knowing Lord, O Inner-knower, O Searcher of hearts.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰ । ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਧਨ ਕੋ੍ਰੜਾਂ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹੀਆਂ (ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੇ) ।੧।
The wealth of the Naam is worth millions of kingdoms to me; O God, please bless me with Your Ambrosial Glance of Grace. ||1||
ਹੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ! ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇਰੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਖਿਲਰੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ
In the ten directions, Your Praises are permeating and pervading, O Inner-knower, Searcher of hearts, O Lord ever-present.
ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਹੇੜਦੇ ।੧।
Those who sing Your Praises, O Creator Lord, those humble beings never die or grieve. ||1||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ
The Lord, Har, Har, is the Purifier of sinners;
ਉਹ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ) ਜਿੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ, (ਸਭ ਨੂੰ) ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, (ਸਭ ਦੇ) ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, (ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹੈ ।ਰਹਾਉ।
He is the soul, the breath of life, the Giver of peace and honor, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; He is pleasing to my mind. ||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਮਾਇਆ ਛਲਾਵੇ ਦੇ ਧੋਖੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ) ਬਹੁਤੀਆਂ ਚਲਾਕੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਸਿਆਣਪਾਂ ਛੱਡ ਦੇ, ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ (ਦੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ) ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰਿਆ ਕਰ
Renounce your cleverness and all your mental tricks; with your palms pressed together, walk on the Path of the Holy Saints.
ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ—ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਰੀਰ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਫਲ ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ।੧।
Remember the Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; this is the most sublime reward of this human incarnation. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਤਨਾ ਭੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ) ਜਿੰਦ-ਸਰੀਰ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਸਭ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈਂ
My soul and body are totally Yours, Lord; You are the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, my Primal Lord God.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ—(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੂੰ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਅਖਵਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ।੪।੪।੧੧।
So speaks servant Nanak, the slave of Your slaves; as You make me speak, so do I speak. ||4||4||11||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ
He is my Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਮੇਰਾ ਉਹ ਹਰੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
My Lord and Master abides with His humble devotees. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਸਾਡੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ
O God, You are the Great Giver, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਪਰ ਅਸੀ ਜੀਵ ਇਸ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਸਰੀਰ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਮਾਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ (ਤੇ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ) ।੨।
The body of the egotistical human is perishable. ||2||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ
Meditate in remembrance on God, your Lord and Master.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
He is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of all hearts. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਗਿਆਨ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ!
So enter the Sanctuary of the All-powerful, Unfathomable Lord and Master.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ, (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ।੪।੨੭।੩੩।
O God, O Searcher of hearts, please, save Nanak! ||4||27||33||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ
O my Dear Lord God, You are the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ! ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
Be Merciful to me, O Divine, Compassionate Guru, that I may constantly sing the Glorious Praises of my Lord and Master. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ-ਆਕਾਰ ਉਸ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਹੈ । ਹਰੇਕ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ
God is the Inner-knower of all hearts; God dwells in every place.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਵੇਖੋ (ਹਰੇਕ ਥਾਂ ਉਹੀ ਦਿੱਸੇਗਾ । ਜਦੋਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਥਾਂ ਉਹੀ ਦਿੱਸੇ ਪਏ, ਤਾਂ) ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੈੜਾ ਆਖਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ।੬।
So who should we call evil? Behold the Word of the Shabad, and lovingly dwell upon it. ||6||
ਤੂੰ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਹੈਂ, ਗਿਆਨ-ਵਾਨ ਹੈਂ, ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਹ (ਸਾਰਾ) ਜਗਤ ਰਚਿਆ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੋੜਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ) ।
You are Wise and All-knowing, the Inner-knower; You Yourself created the creation.
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਓ! (ਮੇਰਾ ਹਾਲ ਸੁਣੋ) ਮੋਹਨ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਮੇਰਾ ਤਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਲ ਭਿੱਜਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ।੩।
So listen, O my sisters - the Enticer has enticed my mind. My body and mind are drenched with Nectar. ||3||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ ।
He is contained amongst all; He is God, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ) ਵਿਆਪਕ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ।
One who meditates and dwells upon God, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, knows that God, my Lord and Master, is pervading everywhere.
ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ।
God, my Lord and Master, is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; He pervades and permeates each and every heart.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰਿਆਂ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ (ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ) ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ।
Through the Guru's Teachings, Truth is obtained, and then, one merges in celestial bliss. There is no other than Him.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰੋ,
Sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe, continually, continuously; He is the Beloved Master of the breath of life.
ਸੋਹਣੇ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਆਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।
Good times have come; the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, has met me, and hugged me close in His Embrace.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਸੂਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਜਿੰਦ ਸਰੀਰ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਉਸ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈ ।
My body and soul are all His blessings. He is overflowing with every quality of virtue.
(ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਮਤਿ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ ।
My God is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. He is totally permeating and pervading everywhere.
ਦਾਤਿ ਵਧਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਕਦੇ ਮੁੱਕਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਸ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
His gifts increase and shall never be exhausted; I have found the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਕੋ੍ਰੜਾਂ ਰੁਕਾਵਟਾਂ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕਦਾ ।
Millions of obstacles have all been removed, and pain does not even approach me.
ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉੱਦਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਅਕਲ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ) । ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਅਸੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ।
Effort and intelligence come from God, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; as He wills, they act.
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਟਕ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵੀਣਾ (ਆਦਿਕ ਸਾਜ) ਦੀ ਤਾਰ ਵਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਸਾਜ ਵੱਜਦਾ ਹੈ); ਤਿਵੇਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ (ਜੋ, ਮਾਨੋ) ਵਾਜੇ (ਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਵਜਾਇਆਂ) ਵੱਜਦੇ ਹਨ ।੧।
As the violinist plays upon the strings of the violin, so does the Lord play the living beings. ||1||
ਬੇਨਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਦਾਨ ਦੇਹ ।
Please bless me with devotion, O God, O Searcher of hearts.
ਹੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ! (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ) ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ) ਬੇਨਤੀ ਹੈ।੪।੫।੧੦।
This is Nanak's prayer, O Lord and Master. ||4||5||10||
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ । ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
God Himself is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; He does, and causes everything to be done.
(ਸਰਨ ਪਏ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ—ਇਹ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਹੈ ।੩।
He purifies so many sinners; this is the natural way of our Lord and Master. ||3||
ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਤੂੰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ (ਸਦਾ) ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ ।੨।੧੪।੧੮।
O my Lord and Master, please listen to the prayer of Your humble servant; You are the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
Nanak's Lord and Master is permeating and pervading all places and interspaces. ||2||14||78||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਚੋਜ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਵੇਖ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਭੀ) ਹੌਸਲਾ ਬਣ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਭੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ) ।
I am reassured, gazing upon Your wondrous play.
ਤੂੰ ਹੀ (ਸਾਡਾ) ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ (ਹਰੇਕ) ਸਾਧੂ-ਜਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
You are my Lord and Master, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; You dwell with the Holy Saints. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਸਭ ਡਰਾਂ ਭਰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
I met the Perfect Guru, by great good fortune, and so found the wise and all-knowing Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਸੋਹਣਾ ਤੇ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਵੱਡੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਨਿਮਾਣਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਦਰ-ਮਾਣ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
He gave me His Hand, and making me His own, He saved me; He is absolutely all-powerful, the honor of the dishonored. ||1||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ! ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ!
My Beloved Lord and Master is the Support of the breath of life.
ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈਂ ।੧।
God, the Inner-knower, is all-pervading. ||1||
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਸੁਖ ਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ।
Meditating in remembrance on the Lord of the Universe, I am emancipated.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੁਜਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ, ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਚੋਟ ਕਾਰਗਰ ਨਾਹ ਹੋ ਸਕੀ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੁਖ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
Suffering is eradicated, and true peace has come, meditating on the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਹੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਮਾਲਕ! ਬਿਨਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਬੋਲਣ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡਾ ਹਾਲ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ । ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—) ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ!
You are the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, the Primal Lord and Master; You know even what is unspoken.
ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਲ ਤੱਕ, ਤਾ ਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਤਨ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਠੰਢਾ-ਠਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ ।੨।੫।੧੨੧।
My body and mind are cooled and soothed, O Nanak, by God's Glance of Grace. ||2||5||121||
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ
Serve the Dear Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts;
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ।
deep within each and every heart, His Light is shining forth.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ । ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਗੁਣ ਦੱਸ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ?
What virtues of Yours can I speak, O God, O Searcher of hearts?
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਜੀਵ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣ-ਜੋਗੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।
Meditating, meditating in remembrance on the Lord, I have crossed over to the other shore.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
In all places and interspaces, the One, our Lord and Master is contained.
ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
He is the Inner-knower of all hearts.
ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ।੩।
God's Feet are the boat to cross over the world-ocean.
ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ।੩।
God, the Inner-knower, is the Cause of causes. ||3||
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
He is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, the Architect of Destiny.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Twenty-four hours a day, he remains imbued with the love of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||
ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ (ਸਾਨੂੰ) ਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਅਸੀ ਉਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ ।
Whatever you attach me to, to that I am attached, O my Lord and Master.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—) ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।੪।੧੩।੨੪।
O Nanak, the Lord is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||4||13||24||
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਹੜਾ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮੌਤ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹਸਤੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ, ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਤੋਂ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ) ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ) ਹਨੇਰੇ ਨੂੰ (ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧੮।
Being of Immortal Manifestation, He is not born; He is self-existent; He is the Light in the darkness of Kali Yuga. ||18||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਵਲੋਂ) ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧੯।
He is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, the Giver of souls; gazing upon Him, I am satisfied and fulfilled. ||19||
(ਤਿਵੇਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-) ਘਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਨੌ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਕਾ-ਨਕਾ ਭਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭਨੀਂ ਥਾਈਂ ਦਿੱਸਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
God is all-pervading everywhere; the nine treasures of the Lord's Name fill the homes of all hearts.
ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਤਰ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ।
Meditating in remembrance on the Lord and Master, the Searcher of hearts, all one's ancestry is saved.
ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ (ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ) ਹੈ ਜੋ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ) ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
That humble being is immaculate, who worships the Lord with each and every breath.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੋ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ) ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ ।
With your tongue, vibrate the One Inaccessible Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਨਾਨਕ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ ।੨੦।
He is all-pervading everywhere. Nanak is a sacrifice to Him. ||20||
ਘਟ ਘਟ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਲ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, the Inaccessible Primal Lord, inspires us to look upon all with an impartial eye.
ਉਹ ਸਤਸੰਗ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
With the support of the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, one falls in love with God.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸੁਜਾਨ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਗੁਣ ਦੱਸ ਕੇ ਗਿਣਾਂ? ਹੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!
What Glorious Virtues of Yours should I chant? O God, You are the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
(ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ) ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨।੭।੮।
I seek the Sanctuary of Your Lotus Feet, O Lord, ocean of peace; Nanak is forever a sacrifice to You. ||2||7||8||
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ (ਦਾ ਅੰਦਰਲਾ ਭੇਤ) ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ । ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਕੁਝ ਲੁਕਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ।੧।
The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, knows everything; what can anyone hide from Him?
(ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਜਿਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਤੂੰ ਹਰਾਮਖ਼ੋਰੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਅੰਤ ਵੇਲੇ) ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਸਾੜਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਹੱਥ ਪੈਰ (ਆਦਿਕ ਅੰਗ) ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਸੜ ਕੇ ਸੁਆਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।
Your hands and feet will fall off in an instant, when you are burnt in the fire. ||1||
(ਹੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ!) ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ (ਉਹ ਬਾਹਰਲੇ ਭੇਖਾਂ ਉੱਦਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਤੀਜਦਾ) ।
My Sovereign Lord is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਹੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ! ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ) ਵਿਖਾਵੇ ਦੇ ਬੋਲ ਬੋਲਣੇ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ।੬।੧੫।
The Beloved of my soul knows everything; all trivial talk is forgotten. ||1||Second Pause||6||15||
ਭਾਈ! ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੁਜਾਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ ।
He is the place of rest for my mind,
ਉਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੱਜਣ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਥੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
my friend, companion, associate and relative; He is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||1||Pause||
(ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ) ਜੀਵ ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਵਿਚ ਪੁੱਠਾ (ਲਟਕ ਕੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ
Within the mother's womb, upside-down, the mortal meditated on God.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ) ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, knows everything.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ (ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ) ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ।
You are the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. All beings belong to You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਸੀ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ।
You are the Great Giver; I am Your slave.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਗੁਣ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਾਂ?
What Glorious Virtues of Yours should I chant, O my Lord and Master?
ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ।
You are the Inner-knower, the Searcher of all souls.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹੀ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ (ਅਸਲ) ਮਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ ।
My Lord and Master is my best friend.
ਉਸ ਪੂਰਨ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ।
The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, is in all places and interspaces.
ਹੇ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਆਪ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕਰਾ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ!
The Lord and Master is the Doer, the Cause of causes.
ਹੇ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!
He is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of all hearts.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਿਛੋੜਾ ਪਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੀ ਕੰਧ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ,
The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, is pervading the water and the land.
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਦਿੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ;
The undeceivable Lord and Master is permeating each and every heart.
ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਤੂੰ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਹੈਂ ।
The Supreme Lord God is imperishable, the Transcendent Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਮਧੁਸੂਦਨ ਤੇ ਦਾਮੋਦਰ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ ।
He is the Slayer of demons, our Supreme Lord and Master.
ਹੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਮੈਂ ਜਿਧਰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਧਰ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ) ।
Wherever I look, there I see the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਨਾਹ ਵਿਸਰ ।
I never forget God, my Lord and Master, even for an instant.
ਰੱਬ ਬਾਹਰਲੇ ਭੇਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਉਹ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ,
By wearing religious robes outwardly, God, the Inner-knower is not found.
ਤੇ, ਇਕ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਵਿਚਰਦੀ ਹੈ ।
Without the One Dear Lord, all wander around aimlessly.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ । ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ (ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ।
You Yourself, Lord, are the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; as You make me walk, O my Beloved, so do I walk.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ । ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਦੋਂ (ਹੀ) ਮੈਂ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹਾਂ ।
Nothing is in my hands; when You unite me, then I come to be united.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
O Nanak, the Lord shows Mercy to those who accept the Guru's Will as good.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ । ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ (ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਉਤੇ ਤੋਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ।੪।੨।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਇਕ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਹੈ ।
The One Lord, my Lord and Master, is my Protector.
ਸਾਡਾ ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਤੂੰ ਕੀਹ ਸੋਚਾਂ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ?
What do you think, with your human understanding?
ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਹੈ ।
The All-knowing Lord is the Searcher of Hearts.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਰਤਨ ਦਾ) ਦਾਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ,
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the Inner-knower of my heart.
(ਹੁਣ) ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
The Naam is so useful to me.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਵਿਆਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ।
With Your Support, I have no fear.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।
The True Lord is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ ਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਰ—) ਹੇ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਜੋਗ ਸੁਆਮੀ!
Our Lord and Master is the Creator, the Cause of causes.
ਹੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਾਵਣ ਦੇ ਸਮਰਥ ਸੁਆਮੀ!
He is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of all hearts.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The Creator is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪੱਥਰ ਦੀ ਲਕੀਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਝੂਠ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ,
That person, whom the Lord makes His Own, becomes stable and steady.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਾਡਾ ਉਹ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ, ਸਾਡਾ ਉਹ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ
Our Eternal, Imperishable, Incomprehensible Lord and Master, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, is permeating all hearts.
(ਹੇ ਕਲੰਦਰ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕਢਾਇਆ, (ਤੈਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਹੋਰ) ਕਿਸ ਅੱਗੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਾਂ?
Performing devotional worship services to You, my cymbals were taken away; unto whom should I complain?
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਸਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ ।੪।੧।
Naam Dayv's Lord and Master, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, wanders everywhere; He has no specific home. ||4||1||
ਹੇ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!
O Merciful God, O Searcher of hearts,
ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖ ।
please bless Your slave with Your Glance of Grace.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ, ਉਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਪਤੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਮਧੂ ਰਾਖਸ਼ ਦਾ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਹਰੀ ਲੱਛਮੀ ਦਾ ਖਸਮ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।
O my mind, meditate on the Lord, the Lord of Wealth, the Source of Nectar, the Supreme Lord God, the True Transcendent Being, God, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਹਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰ, ਉਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
He is the Destroyer of all suffering, the Giver of all peace; sing the Praises of my Beloved Lord God. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਜਾਨ ਹਨ ।
The Dear Lord is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
(ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਲੁਕਾ ਕੇ ਕੋਈ ਭੈੜਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਹ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤਾਂ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਬੀਤੇ ਸਮੇ ਦੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਗਾਂਹ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੇਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
The mortal does evil deeds, and hides from others, but like the air, the Lord is present everywhere. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
You have blessed me with all sorts of gifts; you have blessed me with honor and respect.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਹੇ ਜਾਣੀਜਾਣ! ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ ।੧।
Forever and ever, You preserve my honor, O Inner-knower, O Searcher of hearts. ||1||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਮੇਰੇ) ਨਾਲ ਹੈ
My God is always with me; He is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਸਚਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ-ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
I find happiness in the world hereafter, and peace and pleasure in this world, meditating in remembrance on the Name of my Lord and Master. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਡੇ ਬੋਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ, ਸਾਡੇ ਆਖਣ-ਅਖਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਸਾਡੀ ਲੋੜ) ਜਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
Without being spoken, without being told, You know all, O Searcher of hearts.
ਨਾਨਕ (ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ—ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਜੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਦਰ-ਸਤਕਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ।੨।੧੦੫।੧੨੮।
One whom God unites with Himself, O Nanak, that humble being is honored in the Court of the Lord. ||2||105||128||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਦਾ, ਸਾਰੇ ਆਨੰਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਹੈ । ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਜਮਾਂ ਦਾ (ਭੀ) ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ ।
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the ultimate ecstasy, bliss, happiness, peace and tranquility. The fear is death is dispelled by meditating in remembrance on the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਜੋਗੀ ਹੈ ।
Only the Sanctuary of the Feet of the Lord of the Universe can destroy all the suffering of the world.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ (ਜਦੋਂ ਇਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ) ਤਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ
The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, is contained within all; why should I be afraid, O Siblings of Destiny?
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਥੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ, ਉਹ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
God, my Help and Support, is always with me. He shall never leave; I see Him everywhere. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਹੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਤੂੰ ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈਂ ।
He is the Purifier of sinners, the Lover of His devotees, the Ocean of mercy, our Lord and Master.
(ਹੇ ਮਨ!) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿੱਕ ਕੇ) ਝਾਕਾ ਲਾਹ ਕੇ, ਉਸ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ
In the Society of the Saints, vibrate and meditate on Him with commitment forever; He is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅਸਚਰਜ-ਰੂਪ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ । ਉਹ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
My Wondrous Lord and Master is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. My Beloved, the Treasure of virtue, has met me.
ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਹਾਨ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਮਹਾਨ ਸੁਖ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।
Supreme happiness and peace well up, as I cherish the Glorious Virtues of the Lord of the Universe.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨਣ ਵਾਲੇ (ਸੰਤ ਜਨ) ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਤਰਸ-ਰੂਪ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ।
He is All-powerful, the Ocean of Mercy, the All-knowing Searcher of Hearts.
ਨਾਨਕ (ਭੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਦਾ ਦਾਨ ਮੰਗਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨।੨।੨੧।
Twenty-four hours a day Nanak sings His Praises, and begs for the Gift of the Lord. ||2||2||21||
। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਓ! ਸਦਾ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰੋ (ਭਜਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਸਾਰਾ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
Vibrating and meditating continuously on our Lord and Master, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, one's life becomes totally fruitful.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਓ! ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ-ਭਜਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਜੰਮਿਆ ਕਬੂਲ ਸਮਝੋ ।
Those who sing and meditate continually on the Lord of the Universe - their coming into the world is blessed and approved.
ਸੁੱਧ-ਸਰੂਪ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਐਸਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ
Such is the Sovereign Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of Hearts;
(ਪਰ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਭੀ ਇਉਂ) ਪ੍ਰਤੱਖ (ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ੇ ਵਿਚ (ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ਾ ਵੇਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾ) ਮੂੰਹ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
He sees everything as clearly as one's face reflected in a mirror. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰ! ਹੇ ਦਮੋਦਰ! ਹੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ!
Merciful to the meek and poor, Lord of the world, Support of the earth, Inner-knower, Searcher of hearts, Lord of the Universe.
ਹੇ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ! ਹੇ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦਾਤੇ ਹਰੀ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਲੈ ਕੇ (ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ।੧।
Those who meditate on the Supreme Lord become fearless. Through the Wisdom of the Guru's Teachings, they meditate on the Lord, the Liberator Lord. ||1||
ਹੇ ਸਰਬ-ਗੁਣ-ਭਰਪੂਰ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ! ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ।
My God is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of Hearts.
। ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਅਟੱਲ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ (ਆਪਣੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ) ਸ਼ਬਦ (ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ । ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਪਰਵਾਨਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
Take pity on me, O Perfect Transcendent Lord; bless me with the True Eternal Insignia of the Shabad, the Word of God. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ! ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ!
Please be merciful, O Supreme Lord God, O Lord and Master,
ਹੇ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ।
Inner-knower, Searcher of Hearts.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ (ਰਾਖਾ) ਹੈ ।
My One Lord is the Inner-Knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ । (ਮੇਰਾ) ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ (ਭੀ) ਖਸਮ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
He alone is my Support; He is my only Protection. My Great Lord and Master is over and above the heads of kings. ||1||Pause||
ਮਨ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਜਾਂ (ਦੁਖੀਏ ਦਾ) ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ (ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸੋ ਜੇ ਆਖਣਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ) ਉਸ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The mind alone knows the state of the mind; I tell it to the Knowing Lord.
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਹੁਣ ਕੋਈ (ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ) ਡਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ।੧।
I chant the Name of the Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts - why should I be afraid? ||1||
ਹੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਲੁਕ ਲੁਕ ਕੇ ਠੱਗੀ ਦੇ ਉਪਰਾਲੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, (ਪਰ) ਤੂੰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਤੇ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ ।
I try to hide my deception, but God, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of Hearts, sees and hears all.
ਹੇ ਜੀਅ-ਦਾਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ! ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਹ ਸੀਲ ਹੈ ਨਾਹ ਧਰਮ; ਨਾਹ ਦਇਆ ਹੈ ਨਾਹ ਸੁੱਚ । ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ ।
