ਜੇ (ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ) ਆਸਰਾ-ਪਰਨਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਏ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਭਾਰੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ
Serving the True Guru is the greatest greatness.
ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਾਲੀ ਕੋਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ ।
The Dear Lord automatically comes to dwell in the mind.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ !) ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਰਹਿਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹ
Those who have the Carefree Lord abiding in their minds
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੋਂਹਦੀ ।੨।
- no cares will ever bother them. ||2||
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਗਿਆਨੀ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਸਦਾ) ਬੇਫ਼ਿਕਰੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
The God-conscious being is carefree.
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ (ਭੀ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
Pure are the Teachings of the God-conscious being.
ਬੇਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਹਿਂਗਾ ਤੇ ਸੁਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਿਤੀਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ।
You shall become carefree, and you shall dwell in peace.
ਦਮ-ਬ-ਦਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ,
With every breath and every morsel of food, cherish the Lord's Name.
ਜਦੋਂ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੀ,
When there was only the One, the One and Only Lord God,
ਤਦੋਂ ਕੌਣ ਬੇ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਕਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਸੀ ।
then who was not anxious, and who felt anxiety?
(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆਂ) ਬੜਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਿਸਚਿੰਤਤਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
Now, I am totally blissful, carefree and at ease.
ਸਾਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਕੋਈ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਪਦਾ, ਕੋਈ ਵੈਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਪਦਾ), (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਅੰਤਰ ਆਤਮੇ ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
The enemies and evil-doers have perished, and I have obtained peace. ||1||Pause||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ-ਇੱਛਤ ਫਲ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
That which my mind wishes for, the True Guru has granted.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਵਡ-ਭਾਗੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੩।
I have become carefree, and I fix my attention on the One Lord. ||3||
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਆਸਾਂ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦੀਆਂ ।
One who recognizes the Supreme Lord God, dislikes other desires.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
He focuses his consciousness on the Lord's devotional worship, and keeps his mind free of anxiety. ||1||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ (ਦੂਜੇ ਭਾਉ ਦਾ) ਦੁਖ ਮਿਟਾ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ
In the Society of the Saints, I am rid of my pain and suffering.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਕਦੇ ਨਾਹ ਨਾਸ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਖੱਟ ਕੇ ਬੇ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨੦।
O Nanak, I have become care-free; I have obtained the imperishable wealth of the Lord. ||20||
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ) ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ।
One who slanders Your slave is crushed and destroyed.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗ ਤੇ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਾਲੀ) ਚਿੰਤਾ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਬੇ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਹੋ ਰਹੁ ।੨੧।
Falling at Your Feet, Nanak has renounced his cares, and has become care-free. ||21||
ਹੇ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਤ੍ਰੁੱਠ ਪਏਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਸਹਿਜ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ
When You are pleased, O Merciful Lord, you automatically come to dwell within my mind.
ਜੀਵ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਨੌ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ (ਹਿਰਦੇ) ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲੱਭ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ
When You are pleased, O Merciful Lord, I find the nine treasures within the home of my own self.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—) ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
Abandoning anxiety, I have become carefree, and I shall not suffer in pain any longer.
ਉਹ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਾਲੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ-ਚਿਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ।੪।੫।੮।
Nanak lives by beholding the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe, the ocean of excellence. ||4||5||8||
ਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਨ ਟਿਕਾ ਕੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ (ਦੱਸੀ ਹੋਈ) ਕਾਰ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਸੇਵਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਫਲ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ
Fruitful is service to the True Guru, if one does so with a sincere mind.
ਨਾਮ ਧਨ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਉਮੈ ਮਮਤਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।
The treasure of the Naam, is obtained, and the mind comes to be free of anxiety.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰਿਆਂ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ
Serving the True Guru, one finds a lasting peace; the pains of birth and death are removed.
ਉੱਕਾ ਹੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਚਿੰਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ।
He is not troubled by anxiety, and the carefree Lord comes to dwell in the mind.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ
Those who meet the True Guru, ever sing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises.
ਚਿੰਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ (ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ) ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ।
The Lord's Name naturally fills their minds, and they are absorbed in the Shabad, the Word of the True Lord.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵੱਡੇ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਜਿਗਰੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ ।
He is so very deep and profound, the Giver of eternal peace; no one can find His limit.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ ।
Serving the Perfect Guru, one becomes carefree, enshrining the Lord within the mind.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ
God automatically does the work of those who love the Name of the Lord.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਦਾ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਵਾਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
By Guru's Grace, he ever dwells in their minds, and He resolves all their affairs.
ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਖਾਣਾ ਤੇ ਪਹਿਨਣਾ ਸਭ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੈ, (ਜੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ) ਉਹ ਸਿੱਧੀ ਤੇ ਕਰਾਮਾਤਿ ਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ;
Without the Name, all food and clothes are worthless; cursed is such spirituality, and cursed are such miraculous powers.
ਇਹੀ (ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਸਿੱਧੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇਹੀ ਕਰਾਮਾਤ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਹਰੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ) ਦਾਤਿ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇ;
That alone is spirituality, and that alone is miraculous power, which the Carefree Lord spontaneously bestows.
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਦਿਲ! ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਜਾਣ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਹੈ
The world is a transitory place of mortality - know this for certain in your mind.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ, (ਫਿਰ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ
The Dear Lord is subtle and inaccessible; how can we ever meet Him?
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਇ (ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, doubt is dispelled, and the Carefree Lord comes to abide in the mind. ||1||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਦਦ ਦੀ) ਹਰੇਕ ਆਸ (ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ
I have discarded all other hopes.
ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਰਹਿਤ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ
I have met with my carefree Lord and Master, the treasure of virtue. ||1||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਿਸਚਿੰਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸੌਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਨਿਸਚਿੰਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਜਾਗਦਾ ਹੈ
I sleep without worry, and I awake without worry.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਇਹ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈਂ,।੨।
You, O God, are pervading everywhere. ||2||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The Guru says that whatever happens is all by God's Will.
ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਅਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ) ਬੇ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਟਿਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਾਂ ।੩।
So I have abandoned sadness, and I now sleep without anxiety. ||3||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਾਲੇ ਗੁਣ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਹੋਰ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭੀ ਜਤਨ ਦੱਸੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ (ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਸਿੱਖਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਸਿੱਖੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ।
As many other efforts as you can think of - I have seen them and studied them all.
ਪਰ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਗਟਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਪਰਖ ਕਰਨੀ ਕਠਨ ਜਿਹਾ ਕੰਮ ਹੈ ।੩।
My Beloved, Carefree Lord has revealed Himself within the home of my own heart; thus I have realized the Inaccessible Lord. ||3||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ।
Now I have obtained the wealth of the Lord's Name.
(ਇਸ ਧਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ ਬੇ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ, (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਸਾਰੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮਿਟ ਗਈ ਹੈ (ਧੁਰ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ) ਇਹ (ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਦਾ) ਲੇਖ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
I have become carefree, and all my thirsty desires are satisfied. Such is the destiny written on my forehead. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਾਈ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਹਾਂ ।
O Patron of the meek and the poor, I am the slave of Your slaves; I seek the Sanctuary of Your Saints.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ-ਜਾਨ ਹਰੀ! ਹੋਰ ਆਸਰੇ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਮੰਗ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੇਹ ।੨।੩੫।੫੮।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਸੁੱਤ ਜਾਗਦਾ ਉੱਠਦਾ ਬੈਠਦਾ, ਹੱਸਦਾ, ਵੈਰਾਗ ਕਰਦਾ—ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਹੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
He sleeps, wakes, rises up and sits down without anxiety; he laughs and cries without anxiety.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ—ਜਿਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਭਰਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ।੨।੪੪।੬੭।
Says Nanak, she who has cheated the world - that Maya is cheated by the humble servant of the Lord. ||2||44||67||
ਹੇ ਕਬੀਰ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ-ਸੋਚਾਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ-ਸੋਚਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
God Himself makes the mortals anxious, and He Himself takes the anxiety away.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸੇ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ ।੨੨੦।
O Nanak, praise the One, who takes care of all. ||220||
