(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ) ਸੇਵਕ-(ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ (ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਤੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ) ਸੇਵਕ-ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਸਦਾ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਹੈ),
The servant is in God, and God is in the servant.
ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਇਕ-ਰੂਪ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਭੁਲੇਖੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ।
He Himself is One - there is no doubt about this.
ਅਜਿਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਇਹੀ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਹੈ
This is his purpose in life;
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ ਚੇਤੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
in the Company of this humble servant, the Lord's Name comes to mind.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਉੱਚੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੰੁਦੇ ਹਨ; ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਹੰੁਦੇ ਹਨ, ਇਹ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਬਚਨ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਲਾਈ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ ।
The humble servants of the Lord are exalted, and exalted is their speech. With their mouths, they speak for the benefit of others.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਮ ਬਚਨ ਸਰਧਾ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਭਵ-ਸਾਗਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
Those who listen to them with faith and devotion, are blessed by the Lord; showering His Mercy, He saves them. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰਾ ਭਗਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਰਸਾਇਣ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
Your humble servant, O Lord, is intoxicated with Your sublime essence.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰਸ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ (ਭਟਕਦਾ) ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
One who obtains the treasure of the Nectar of Your Love, does not renounce it to go somewhere else. ||1||Pause||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਇਹੀ ਕਾਰ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ ।
This is what befits the Lord's servant.
(ਭਗਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ) ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ, ਤੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।ਰਹਾਉ।
Beholding the Lord near at hand, he serves the True Guru, and he is satisfied through the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises. ||Pause||
ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਹੈ
The praise of the Lord's slaves is the Glory of the Lord.
ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਇਹ ਵਡਿਆਈ (ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੰੁਦੀ ਹੈ) ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ । (ਸੋ) ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਜੈ ਜੈਕਾਰ ਕਰਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The Lord loves His Own Glory, and so His humble servant is celebrated and hailed.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The Lord's humble servant sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord's Name.
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਭਗਤ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ (ਭੀ) ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਭਗਤ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਿਆਗਦਾ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
Even if someone slanders the Lord's humble servant, he does not give up his own goodness. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੇ, ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਭਲਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ
Those generous, humble beings are above both birth and death.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨ (ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।੨।
They give the gift of the soul, and practice devotional worship; they inspire others to meet the Lord. ||2||
ਹੇ ਕਬੀਰ! ਪਾਣੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਸਭ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਲ ਰੱਖਿਆਂ (ਭੀ) ਅਜੇ ਪੂਰਨਤਾ ਨਸੀਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਪਾਣੀ ਕਦੇ ਠੰਢਾ ਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਤੱਤਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
Kabeer, what then, if one could become water? It becomes cold, then hot.
ਭਗਤ ਅਜੇਹਾ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਨਾਹ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਏ ।੧੪੯।
The humble servant of the Lord should be just like the Lord. ||149||
