(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ !) ਤੇਰਾ ਉਹ ਘਰ ਅਤੇ (ਉਸ ਘਰ ਦਾ) ਉਹ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਬੜਾ ਹੀ ਅਸਚਰਜ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ।
Where is That Door of Yours, and where is That Home, in which You sit and take care of all?
(ਤੇਰੀ ਇਸ ਰਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਵਿਚ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਵਾਜੇ ਤੇ ਰਾਗ ਹਨ; ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ) ਵਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ।
The Sound-current of the Naad vibrates there for You, and countless musicians play all sorts of instruments there for You.
ਉਹ ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਖ਼ਾਲੀ-ਹੱਥ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿਸੇਂ ਸੁੰਞੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਹੁਣਾ ਆ ਕੇ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
Like guests in a deserted house, they leave just exactly as they have come.
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਬੀਤ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਉਹ ਇਥੋਂ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਅਗਾਂਹ ਕੀਹ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਖਾਇਗਾ ? (ਭਾਵ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦਾ ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ) ।੩।
The life of the self-willed manmukh passes uselessly. What face will he show when he passes beyond? ||3||
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਤੇਰਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਲੁੱਟਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ, ਪਰਾਏ ਐਬ ਕਿਉਂ ਫੋਲਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ?
You cannot save your own home from being plundered; why do you spy on the houses of others?
ਆਪਣਾ ਘਰ ਬਾਰ (ਲੁੱਟੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ) ਬਚਾ ਸਕੇਂਗਾ ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਚੱਖੇਂਗਾ (ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਉਹੀ) ਸੇਵਕ (ਚੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ) ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ (ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿਚ) ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
That Gurmukh who joins himself to the Guru's service, saves his own home, and tastes the Lord's Nectar. ||1||
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ) ਬੰਧਨ ਤੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਹੋਈ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ।
His bonds are shattered, and he stays in the house of liberation.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਡੋਲ-ਚਿੱਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, he sits in the eternal, unchanging house. ||1||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਬਣਾਓ, ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਸਮਝੋ ।
When one is rid of duality, then he realizes the Word of the Shabad.
ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਆਸਰੇ ਦੀ ਝਾਕ ਮੁੱਕੇਗੀ ।
Inside and out, he knows the One Lord.
