ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਬੜੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ
My mind longs for the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan.
(ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਪੀਹਾ ਸ੍ਵਾਂਤੀ ਬੂੰਦ ਲਈ ਤਰਲੇ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਪਪੀਹੇ ਵਾਂਗ (ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਲਈ) ਤਰਲੇ ਲੈ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ
It cries out like the thirsty song-bird.
ਤਿਵੇਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਖੂਹ) ਵਿਚ ਇਤਨਾ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਫਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਖੂਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਣ ਲਈ) ਕੋਈ ਉਰਲਾ ਪਾਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁੱਝਦਾ ।੧।
just so, my mind, infatuated with corruption, understands nothing about this world or the next. ||1||
ਹੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਵਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਭਰ ਲਈ (ਹੀ) ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੇਹ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
O Lord of all worlds: reveal to me, even for an instant, the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਸੱਜਣ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਆ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂ ।
Come, my friend, so that I may behold the blessed Vision of Your Darshan.
(ਹੇ ਸੱਜਣ!) ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੂਰੀ ਸਾਵਧਾਨਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬੜਾ ਹੀ ਚਾਉ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਹੋਵੇ) ।
I stand in my doorway, watching for You; my mind is filled with such a great yearning.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਬੜੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਹੈ (ਮੇਰੀ ਇਹ ਤਾਂਘ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ)
My mind is so very thirsty for the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan.
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ—ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ ।੪।੮।੧੩।
Prays Nanak, O God, I seek Your Sanctuary. ||4||8||13||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਮੰਗਤਾ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਖੜਾ ਹਾਂ ।
I stand humbly at Your Court.
ਭਲਾ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੌਣ ਮੇਰੀ ਦਾਰੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਹੇ ਦਾਤੇ! ਬੂਹਾ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
Who else can take care of me, other than You? Please open Your door, and grant me the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਛੋਹ (ਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਗਦ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ) ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਤ ਧਰਮ-ਰੂਪ ਸੂਰਜ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਚਮਕ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ।
Whoever obtains the Naam, the Philosopher's Stone, becomes the embodiment of Truth, manifest and radiant throughout the world.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ (ਅੰਗਦ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ) ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਅਠਾਹਠ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੮।
Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan, it is as if one has bathed at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage. ||8||
