ਪੂਰਨ ਖਿੜਾਉ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਹੋਵੇ (ਭਾਵ, ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤ ਵੇਲਾ ਹੋਵੇ), ਨਾਮ (ਸਿਮਰੀਏ) ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਡਿਆਈਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰੀਏ ।
In the Amrit Vaylaa, the ambrosial hours before dawn, chant the True Name, and contemplate His Glorious Greatness.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ‘ਸਿਫਤਿ’-ਰੂਪ ਪਟੋਲਾ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ-ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨਾਲ ‘ਕੂੜ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਿ’ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
By the karma of past actions, the robe of this physical body is obtained. By His Grace, the Gate of Liberation is found.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ! ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਹੋਂਦ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈ ।੪।
O Nanak, know this well: the True One Himself is All. ||4||
ਧਰਮ-ਰੂਪੀ ਬੱਝਵਾਂ ਨੀਯਮ ਹੀ ਬਲਦ ਹੈ (ਜੋ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਇਮ ਰੱਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ)। (ਇਹ ਧਰਮ) ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ ।
The mythical bull is Dharma, the son of compassion;
ਇਸ ਧਰਮ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
this is what patiently holds the earth in its place.
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੱੁਖ (ਇਸ ਉਪਰ-ਦੱਸੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਨੂੰ) ਸਮਝ ਲਏ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਯੋਗ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦਾ ਪਰਕਾਸ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ।
One who understands this becomes truthful.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ !) ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਖਸਮ ਹੈਂ ।
You are the True Creator, my Lord and Master.
(ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਵੇਂ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ।੧।
Whatever pleases You comes to pass. As You give, so do we receive. ||1||Pause||
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੱੁਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਹਨ), ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ
I fall at the feet of those who serve their True Guru.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ! (ਆਖ—) ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜੇਹੜੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਖ਼ਰੂ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ।੪।੨੧।੫੪।
O Nanak, I am a sacrifice to those who are found to be true in the True Court. ||4||21||54||
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ) ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲ ਡੋਲਣੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਸਹਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।
Those who are attuned to Truth are saved; they renounce duality and corruption.
ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ, ਜੇਹੜੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਖ਼ਰੂ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ।੨।
I am a sacrifice to those who are found to be Truthful in the True Court. ||2||
ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ) ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਉਹ) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਖ਼ਰੂ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ
Through true devotional worship, they are attuned to Truth; at the True Door, they are found to be true.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਉਣਾ ਕਬੂਲ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਕੁਲ ਦਾ ਭੀ ਪਾਰ‑ਉਤਾਰਾ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।੭।
Blessed is their coming into being; they redeem all their ancestors. ||7||
ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਥਾਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The True Lord calls the true ones to the Mansion of His Presence.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ! (ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਪੱਲੇ) ਸਦਾ ਸੱਚ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸੱਚ ਦਾ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸੱਚ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧੫।
O Nanak, the true ones are forever true; they are absorbed in the True Lord. ||15||
Gauree Gwaarayree, Fifth Mehl:
ਇਸ ਕਲੇਸ਼ਾਂ-ਵੇੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿਚ (ਇਸਤਰੀ ਤੇ ਪਤੀ) ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸੰਬੰਧਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਆ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ।
In the Dark Age of Kali Yuga, they come together through destiny.
ਜਿਤਨਾ ਚਿਰ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਲੋਂ) ਹੁਕਮ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਤਨਾ ਚਿਰ (ਦੋਵੇਂ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ) ਪਦਾਰਥ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ ।੧।
As long as the Lord commands, they enjoy their pleasures. ||1||
। ਸੱਚ ਦੇ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਤਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਬਹਿ ਕੇ (ਸੇਵਾ ਦੀ) ਘਾਲ ਘਾਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਉਥੇ ਕੂੜ ਦੇ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਕਿਤੇ ਲੱਭਿਆਂ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਦੇ ।
The truthful Sikhs sit by the True Guru's side and serve Him. The false ones search, but find no place of rest.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਚੰਗੇ ਨਹੀ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਖਸਮ ਵਲੋਂ ਫਿਟਕਾਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ
Those who are not pleased with the Words of the True Guru - their faces are cursed, and they wander around, condemned by God.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਕਰੜੇ (ਭਾਵ, ਨਿਰਦਈ) ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਹਿ ਸਕਦੇ ।
Those who have hearts as hard as stone, do not sit near the True Guru.
ਓਥੇ (ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਤਾਂ) ਸੱਚ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਕੂੜ ਦੇ ਵਪਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਲੱਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ।
Truth prevails there; the false ones do not attune their consciousness to it.
ਕੋਈ ਧਿਰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਰਨਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਲਵੋ, ਸੱਚੇ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਝੂਠ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਲ ਸਕਦਾ (ਭਾਵ, ਆਪਣਾ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ) ।
Falsehood does not mix with the Truth; O people, check it out and see.
ਝੂਠੇ ਝੂਠਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਜਾ ਰਲਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੋਲ ਹੀ ਜਾ ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਨ ।੨੬।
The false go and mingle with the false, while the truthful Sikhs sit by the side of the True Guru. ||26||
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੂੰ (ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ) ਰਚਨਹਾਰ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ (ਹੀ) ਮੇਰਾ ਖਸਮ ਹੈਂ
You are the True Creator, my Lord Master.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਵਰਤ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ । (ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਮੈਂ ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੂੰ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
That which is pleasing to Your Will, comes to pass. Whatever You give, that is what I receive. ||1||Pause||
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਕਮਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਧੁਰ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ
Those who have such pre-ordained destiny practice the Naam.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਖ਼ਰੂ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਸੱਦਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਆਦਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ) ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ ।
The True Lord summons the truthful to the Mansion of His Presence. ||1||Pause||
ਸੱਚ ਦਾ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਜੀਵ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ) ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਝੂਠੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ।
Through Truth, one meets the True One; He is not obtained through falsehood.
ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜਿਆਂ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਵੀਦਾ ।੨।
Centering your consciousness on the True Lord, you shall not have to come into the world again. ||2||
ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ,
The Dear Lord dwells in the mind, and all suffering departs.
ਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਖ਼-ਰੂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ।੪।
Then, at the Gate of the True Lord, one appears truthful. ||4||
ਜਿਤਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਜੀਵ ਮੇਰ-ਤੇਰ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੱਦਬੰਦੀ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ, (ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਕਦੇ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਕਦੇ ਝੂਠਾ ਹੈ
In ego they become truthful or false.
ਜਦ ਤਾਈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਾਦਰ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਖਰੀ ਹੋਂਦ ਦੇ ਭਰਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਤਾਈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਤੇ ਪੰੁਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਗਿਣਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਇਹ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ‘ਮੈ’ ਇਹ ਭਲੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ, ‘ਮੈ’ ਇਹ ਮਾੜੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ)
In ego they reflect on virtue and sin.
ਚਾਰੇ ਵੇਦ ਸੱਚੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਚੌਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਜੁਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵਖੋ-ਵਖਰਾ ਵੱਜਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਹਰੇਕ ਸਮੇ ਇਹੀ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ‘ਸੇਤੰਬਰ’, ‘ਰਾਮ’, ‘ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ’ ਤੇ ‘ਅਲਹੁ’ ਆਖ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਜਪੇਗਾ, ਉਹੀ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਪਾਏਗਾ);
The four Vedas each claim to be true.
ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਭਾਵ, ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਮੇ ਵਿਚ ਜੋ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਉਪਰੋਕਤ ਯਕੀਨ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਧਰਮ-ਪੁਸਤਕ ਪੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਤੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ) ਉਹ ਹੋਏ ਭੀ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਯੁਕਤੀਆਂ (ਚਾਰ=ਸੁੰਦਰ; ਵੀਚਾਰ=ਦਲੀਲ, ਯੁਕਤੀ) ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ।
Reading and studying them, four doctrines are found.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੱਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਸੱਚ ਦੇ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ (ਸਮਝੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ)
The Gurmukhs are pleasing to the True Lord; they are judged to be true in the True Court.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸੱਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਸਦਾ) ਖਿੜਾਉ ਹੰੁਦਾ ਹੈ
The minds of such friends are filled with bliss, as they reflect upon the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੀ (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੀ (ਇਥੋਂ) ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੇ ।
In Truth we come, and in Truth we go, and then, we are not consigned to reincarnation again.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਖ਼-ਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।੫।
The Gurmukhs are hailed as True in the True Court; they merge in the True Lord. ||5||
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ) ਸੱਚੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ) ਸਦਾ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੁਰਖ਼-ਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
Through the True Word of the Shabad, be always happy, and you shall be acclaimed as True in the True Court.
ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਹੋਈ ਕਾਰ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
O Nanak, he alone serves the True Guru, whom the Creator has blessed with His Glance of Grace. ||1||
ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਸਚਾਈ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਹੈ ।
I am a sacrifice to the Truest of the True.
ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਹ ਕੋਈ ਰੂਪ ਹੈ ਨਾਹ ਰੰਗ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਕੋਈ ਚਿਹਨ ਚੱਕ੍ਰ ਹੈ । ਸੱਚੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਥਹੁ-ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ।ਰਹਾਉ।
He has no form, no color and no features; through the True Word of the Shabad, He reveals Himself. ||Pause||
ੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਲਾਲਚੀ ਤੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਮਨ! (ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ) ਸੁਣ
Listen, O mind, you blind, false dog!
ਸੱਚਾ ਮਨੱੁਖ ਬਿਨਾ ਬੋਲਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ
Even without your speaking, the Lord knows and understands. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹੇ, ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
But if he joins the Society of the Saints, then he comes to embrace love for the Truth.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੂੰ (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਲੈ, (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਖ਼-ਰੂ ਹੋਵੇਂਗਾ ।੨੦।
Praising the True Lord with a truthful mind, he becomes true in the Court of the True Lord. ||20||
ਉਹ ਹਉਮੈ-ਰੂਪ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।
Those who are imbued with the True Lord are immaculate and pure; they conquer egotism and corruption.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹੀ ਸੱਚ ਦਾ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਹੈ ।੨।
He alone is united with You, whom You unite with Yourself; he alone is true. ||2||
ਕੂੜੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਤਾਰ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਸੱਚ ਦਾ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ।
The Naam washes off the filth of falsehood; chanting the Naam, one becomes truthful.
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰ ਕਿ) ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਬਰਕਤਾਂ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਦਾਤਾ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਰਹੇ (ਭਾਵ, ਸਦਾ ਅਸਾਡੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖੀ ਰੱਖੇ) ।੨।
O servant Nanak, wondrous are the plays of the Lord, the Giver of life. ||2||
ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸੁੱਧ-ਸਰੂਪ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਵਿਚ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਆਦਿਕ ਦਾ) ਰਤਾ ਭੀ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ।
He is immaculate, and has no darkness.
ਉਹ ਸੱਚ-ਸਰੂਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਉਤੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ।
The True Lord Himself sits upon His throne.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ਹਨ ।
The Truest of the True has the Truth is His lap.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The True Lord is pleased with those who love the Shabad.
ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, (ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਉਹ ਆਪ (ਹੀ) ਹਰੇਕ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
He Himself creates the Universe. He Himself contemplates it.
ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਉਹ ਸੱਚ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ (ਹੀ) ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਸੋ ਕਿਸੇ (ਮਨਮੁਖ) ਨੂੰ (ਭੀ ਮੰਦਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ।੧।
O Nanak, whom should we tell? The True Lord is permeating and pervading all. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The Word of the Shabad carries him across the terrifying world-ocean.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਖ਼ਰੂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨।
He appears true in the True Court of the Lord. ||2||
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਐਸੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ (ਸਚਿਆਰੁ) ਹੈਂ ਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਆਪਣੀ ਇਹ) ਹਸਤੀ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਵਰਤਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ
You are True, O True Lord; You dispense True Justice.
ਅਜੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੀ ਉਤਪੱਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਹੋਈ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਵਿਚ) ਸਮਾਧੀ ਲਾਈ ਬੈਠਾ ਸੈਂ
Like a lotus, You sit in the primal celestial trance; You are hidden from view.
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਗੁਰ-ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਲੋਂ, ਮਾਨੋ) ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ;
One who dies in the Shabad and conquers his mind - blessed is the mother who gave birth to him.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੱਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਸੱਚਾ ਤੇ ਸੱਚ ਦਾ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
He is true in the Court of the Lord, and his coming into this world is judged to be true.
