ਅਸੀ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਬਚਨ ਬੋਲੀਏ (ਭਾਵ, ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰੀਏ) ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਹਰੀ (ਸਾਨੂੰ) ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰੇ ।
What words can we speak to evoke His Love?
ਪੂਰਨ ਖਿੜਾਉ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਹੋਵੇ (ਭਾਵ, ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤ ਵੇਲਾ ਹੋਵੇ), ਨਾਮ (ਸਿਮਰੀਏ) ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਡਿਆਈਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰੀਏ ।
In the Amrit Vaylaa, the ambrosial hours before dawn, chant the True Name, and contemplate His Glorious Greatness.
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ (ਸੱਚਾ) ਸਿੱਖ ਅਖਵਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕ ਸੱਚਾ ਸਿੱਖ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ) ਉਹ ਰੋਜ਼ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
One who calls himself a Sikh of the Guru, the True Guru, shall rise in the early morning hours and meditate on the Lord's Name.
ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਉੱਦਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਨਾਮ-ਰੂਪ) ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੇ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਵਿਚ ਟੁੱਭੀ ਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹ
Upon arising early in the morning, he is to bathe, and cleanse himself in the pool of nectar.
ਜਦੋਂ ਪਹੁ-ਫੁਟਾਲਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਚਿੜੀ ਚੂਕਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ (ਭਗਤ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੇ) ਤਰੰਗ ਬਹੁਤ ਉੱਠਦੇ ਹਨ,
The sparrows are chirping, and dawn has come; the wind stirs up the waves.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ (ਇਸ ਪਹੁ-ਫੁਟਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਸਮੇ) ਅਚਰਜ ਰੂਪ ਰਚੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਇਸ ਸਮੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਅਚਰਜ ਕੌਤਕ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਲਿਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ) ।੧।
Such a wondrous thing the Saints have fashioned, O Nanak, in the Love of the Naam. ||1||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਭੀ) ਧਨ (ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਧਨ) ਰਤਨ ਜਵਾਹਰ ਮੋਤੀ (ਵਰਗਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ) ਹੈ । ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪਲ੍ਹਰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਇਸ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਧਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ।
The Lord's wealth is like jewels, gems and rubies. At the appointed time in the Amrit Vaylaa, the ambrosial hours of the morning, the Lord's devotees lovingly center their attention on the Lord, and the wealth of the Lord.
ਵੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵੇਲੇ (ਉੱਠ ਕੇ) ਬੀਜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਇਹ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਭਗਤ ਜਨ ਆਪ ਵਰਤਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੰਡਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਮੁੱਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ।
The devotees of the Lord plant the seed of the Lord's wealth in the ambrosial hours of the Amrit Vaylaa; they eat it, and spend it, but it is never exhausted.
(ਜਦੋਂ ਜੀਵ-) ਪਪੀਹਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਣੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ
The rainbird chirps in the ambrosial hours of the morning before the dawn; its prayers are heard in the Court of the Lord.
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਲੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ-) ਬੱਦਲ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ (ਇਸ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਤੇ) ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (‘ਨਾਮ’ ਦੀ) ਵਰਖਾ ਕਰੋ ।
