ਮਹਾਂ ਪੁਰਖ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਵਿਚ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ (ਪਰ ਉਹ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਲਈ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ

Great men speak the teachings by relating them to individual situations, but the whole world shares in them.

ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਸੁਣ ਕੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਡਰ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਧਾਰਨ) ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।

One who becomes Gurmukh knows the Fear of God, and realizes his own self.

ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਰਸੰਗ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ । ਉਹ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,

The speech of the great spiritual beings has a higher purpose.

ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਆਦਿਕ ਦਾ ਲਾਲਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ (ਪਰ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ।੮।

They are filled to over-flowing with Ambrosial Nectar, and they have absolutely no greed at all. ||8||

(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਸੰਤ-ਜਨਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਇਹ ਸੱਚੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ।

ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਉਹ ਕੁਝ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ ।

They speak only of what they see with their eyes.
