ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਨਿਦੰਕ (ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ) ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ (ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਦਾ) ਭਾਰ ਚੁੱਕ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
Countless slanderers, carrying the weight of their stupid mistakes on their heads.
ਨਾਨਕ ਵਿਚਾਰਾ (ਤਾਂ) ਇਹ (ਉਪਰਲੀ ਤੱੁਛ ਜਿਹੀ) ਵਿਚਾਰ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Nanak describes the state of the lowly.
ਸਭ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਤੇ ਦੁਰਜਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਡਭਾਗੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਆ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ
Very fortunate and blessed is that Gurmukh who chants the Naam; it shall bring all slanderers and wicked enemies to fall at his feet.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ—ਇਹ (ਸਾਧਨ) ਸਭ (ਸਾਧਨਾਂ) ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ; ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਭ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ) ਨਿਵਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ ।੧੫।
O Nanak, worship and adore the Naam, the Greatest Name of all, before which all come and bow. ||15||
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ ! ਜਗਤ ਦੇ) ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ, ਜੁਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਤੇਜ-ਪਰਤਾਪ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ
In the beginning, and throughout the ages, His glory is manifest.
(ਕਿ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਆਪ) ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਰਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ) ਬੜਾ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨।
The slanderer died after contracting the deadly fever. ||2||
ਪਰ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ) ਦੋਖੀ-ਨਿੰਦਕ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕ-ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਆਪ ਗਵਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ
God causes the slanderers to lose their honor.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਡਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਨਿਡਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ
Nanak sings the Glorious Praises of the Fearless Lord. ||2||114||
(ਪਰ) ਜੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਸੰਤ ਆਪ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ,
But if the Compassionate Saint shows His Kindness,
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੰਤ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਭੀ (ਪਾਪਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
O Nanak, in the Company of the Saints, the slanderer may still be saved. ||1||
ਸੰਤ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਦਾ ਅੱਤ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ,
The slanderer of the Saint is the worst evil-doer.
ਇਕ ਪਲਕ ਭਰ ਭੀ (ਅੱਤ ਚੁੱਕਣ ਵਲੋਂ) ਆਰਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੈਂਦਾ ।
The slanderer of the Saint has not even a moment's rest.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਿੰਦਕ (ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਦਾਸ ਦੀ) ਵਡਿਆਈ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਜਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨੇ ਆਪ (ਈਰਖਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ) ਦੁਖੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ
The slanderer, who cannot endure His greatness, is destroyed by the Creator Himself.
ਮੈਂ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਦਾ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ।੨।
Servant Nanak chants the Glorious Praises of the Creator, who protects His devotees forever. ||2||
ਜਿਉਂ ਜਿਉਂ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਿਉਂ ਤਿਉਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਵਧਦੀ ਹੈ
As the slanderers spread their slander, so does the Guru's glory increase day by day.
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਨੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਲੁਕਾਈ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ।੧।
Servant Nanak worships the Lord, who makes everyone fall at His Feet. ||1||
ਤੀਜੇ ਥਾਂ ਬੈਠੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ,ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਕੰਗਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ?
The Guru of the third generation thought, "What lies in the hands of these poor people?"
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਚੌਥੇ ਥਾਂ ਬੈਠੇ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਥਾਪਿਆ, ਸੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਤੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਤਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ (ਭਾਵ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਫਿਟੇਵੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਏ) ।
The Guru of the fourth generation saved all these slanderers and evil-doers.
(ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮਾਂਤਰਾਂ ਤੋ ਪਾਪ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਕੁਝ ਤਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਵਲੋਂ ਮਰ ਚੁਕਦੇ ਹਨ) ਬਾਕੀ ਜੋ ਥੋੜੇ ਬਹੁਤ (ਭਲੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਉੱਦਮ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਭਾਵ, ਨਿੰਦਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਮੁਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ)
By their own efforts, the slanderers have destroyed all remnants of themselves.
ਤੇ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਹਰੀ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਪਰਗਟ ਖੇਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
The Support of the Saints, O Nanak, is manifest, pervading everywhere. ||1||
ਸਾਰੇ ਰੋਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਰੂ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਬਣਾਏ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ), ਪਰ ਨਿੰਦਕਾਂ (ਦੇ ਨਿੰਦਾ-ਰੋਗ ਦਾ) ਕੋਈ ਇਲਾਜ ਨਹੀਂ ।
All kinds of medicines may be prepared, but there is no cure for the slanderer.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਉਹ ਭੁਲੇਖੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ (ਇਸ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ) ਨਿੰਦਕ ਖਪ ਖਪ ਕੇ ਜੂਨੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।੨।
Those whom the Lord Himself misleads, O Nanak, putrefy and rot in reincarnation. ||2||
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਕਮਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ
As the slanderers think of acting, so are the fruits they obtain.
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਅੰਦਰ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਭੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕੰਮ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ (ਲੁਕ ਕੇ) ਕਰੇ ।
Actions done in secrecy are sure to come to light, even if one does it underground.
ਝੂਠ ਨਿੰਦਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਪਟਕਾ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ ।
He has seized the slanderers and thrown them to the ground, and declared them false in His Court.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਜੀਵ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ (‘ਨਾਮ’ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ) ਸੰਵਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ ।੨।
Nanak's God is glorious and great; He Himself creates and adorns. ||2||
ਜਗਤ ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਮੇਰੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰੇ, ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਮੇਰੇ ਔਗੁਣ ਭੰਡੇ
Slander me, slander me - go ahead, people, and slander me.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ
Slander is pleasing to the Lord's humble servant.
ਜੇ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਸੁੱਧ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਸਾਡੀ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ (ਭਾਵ, ਜੇ ਸੁੱਧ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਅਸੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਔਗੁਣ ਨਸ਼ਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਸੁਣੀਏ) ਤਾਂ
If my heart is pure, and I am slandered,
ਤਾਂ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਸਾਡੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ
then the slanderer washes my clothes. ||1||
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਬੜਾ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਬੜਾ ਵਿਲਕਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The slanderer cries out and bewails.
(ਨਿੰਦਾ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਭੁੱਲਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ) ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ) ਕੀਤੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦਾ (ਦੁੱਖ-ਰੂਪ) ਫਲ ਭੋਗਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
He has forgotten the Supreme Lord, the Transcendent Lord; the slanderer reaps the rewards of his own actions. ||1||Pause||
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਦਾ ਸਾਥੀ ਬਣੇ (ਨਿੰਦਕ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਲ-ਜੋਲ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਨਿੰਦਕ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਵਾਦੀ ਪਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ।
If someone is his companion, then he shall be taken along with him.
ਨਿੰਦਕ (ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦਾ) ਮਨੋ-ਕਲਪਤ ਹੀ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਭਾਰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ) ਚੁੱਕੀ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਸਾੜਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
Like the dragon, the slanderer carries his huge, useless loads, and burns in his own fire. ||1||
(ਨਿੰਦਕ) ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਧੋਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੈਲ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਹ) ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੰਦਾ ਫਲ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਭੋਗਦਾ ਹੈ ।
He washes off the filth of other peoples' incarnations, but he obtains the rewards of his own actions.
(ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਦਰ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ, ਉਹ ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਅੱਪੜ ਕੇ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੰੁਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
He has no peace in this world, and he has no place in the Court of the Lord. In the City of Death, he is tortured. ||1||
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ (ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਆਪਣਾ) ਕੀਮਤੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਗਵਾ ਲਿਆ ।
The slanderer loses his life in vain.
(ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਆਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡੇਗ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਆਦਰ-ਸਤਕਾਰ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ, (ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ) ਅਗਾਂਹ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਦਰ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
He cannot succeed in anything, and in the world hereafter, he finds no place at all. ||1||Pause||
ਪਰ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਦੇ ਭੀ ਵੱਸ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ (ਉਹ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਮੰਦ ਕਰਮ ਤੋਂ ਹਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਪਿਛਲੇ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਉਸ ਮੰਦ-ਭਾਗੀ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਦੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਵਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਦੇ ਹਨ) ।
Such is the fate of the wretched slanderer - what can the poor creature do?
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਅਜੇਹੀ ਨਿੱਘਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਹੰੁਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਥੇ (ਭਾਵ, ਉਸ ਨਿੱਘਰੀ ਦਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੱਢਣ ਲਈ) ਕੋਈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ । ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੋਲ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਜੋਗਾ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ।੨।
He is ruined there, where no one can protect him; with whom should he lodge his complaint? ||2||
ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਇਉਂ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ (ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ
The slanderer shall never attain emancipation; this is the Will of the Lord and Master.
ਜਿਉਂ ਜਿਉਂ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੱੁਖ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਕਾਈਆਂ ਨਸ਼ਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਤਿਉਂ ਤਿਉਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਪੜਤਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ।੩।
The more the Saints are slandered, the more they dwell in peace. ||3||
ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਜੀਵਨ-ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ (ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਉੱਚਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਿਚ) ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਭੀ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ ।
The Saints have Your Support, O Lord and Master; You are the Saints' Help and Support.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ—(ਉਸ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਮੰਦ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਹੜ ਵਿਚ) ਰੋੜ੍ਹ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਹੜ ਵਿਚ ਰੋੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਮੁਕਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ।੪।੨।੪੧।
Says Nanak, the Saints are saved by the Lord; the slanderers are drowned in the deep. ||4||2||41||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਖੋਟ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਹ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਹ ਬਾਹਰ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਠੀਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ।
The false have no place of rest, either inside or outside; the slanderer does not find salvation.
(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਜੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ (ਇਹ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ਾਂ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਖਿੱਝੇ, ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਬੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਉਹ ਸਗੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਵਧਦੀ ਹੈ ।੩।
Even if one is resentful, God does not withhold His blessings; day by day, they increase. ||3||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਦਾਤਿ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਮਿਟਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ; ਠਾਕੁਰ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਹ (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ) ਦਾਤਿ ਦਿਵਾਈ ਹੰੁਦੀ ਹੈ ।
No one can take away the Guru's gifts; my Lord and Master Himself has given them.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਿੰਦਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੋਈ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਪਸੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ (ਤੇ ਉਹ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ) ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਿੰਦਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਕਾਲੇ (ਦਿੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ) ।੪।
The black-faced slanderers, with slander in their mouths, do not appreciate the Guru's gifts. ||4||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਮੰਦ-ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੀ) ਮੈਲ ਤਾਂ ਧੋ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਮਾਇਆ-ਵੇੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਾਈ ਮੈਲ ਖਾਣ ਦਾ ਆਦੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
By slandering, the slanderer washes the filth off others; he is an eater of filth, and a worshipper of Maya.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ (ਇਸ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਨਾਹ ਉਰਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਆ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ, ਨਾਹ ਪਰਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਲੰਘ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ।੬।
He indulges in the slander of the humble Saints; he is neither on this shore, nor the shore beyond. ||6||
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ
The slanderers are destroyed in an instant; they are not spared for even a moment.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੋਂਹਦਾ, ਪਰ ਨਿੰਦਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜੂਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ,
God will not endure the sufferings of His slaves, but catching the slanderers, He binds them to the cycle of reincarnation.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੀ ।
Those who single-mindedly worship Him in adoration, O my soul, are not subservient to anyone.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਫਿਰ) ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਚਾਲਾਕ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਪਏ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਲਾਣ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੁਝ ਵਿਗਾੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ) ।
Serving the Guru, I have obtained the Mansion of the Lord's Presence, O my soul; all the slanderers and trouble-makers bark in vain.
ਉਹੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਰੋਗਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ (ਸਦਾ ਲਈ) ਟਿਕ ਗਿਆ ।
Safe and sound, I have returned home.
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੁਆਹ ਹੀ ਪਈ
The slanderer's face is blackened with ashes.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ
Nanak has entered God's Sanctuary.
(ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ) ਦੋਖੀ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਉਤੇ ਸੁਆਹ ਹੀ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਕੁਝ ਵਿਗਾੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ)
The faces of the slanderers are blackened with ashes. ||2||22||86||
ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦਾ ਆਪ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ (ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ) ਹਾਰ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਭੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ
He Himself is the help and support of His humble servants; He defeats the slanderers, and chases them away.
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕ ਕੇ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।੧।
Wandering around aimlessly, they die out there; they never return to their homes again. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of the Destroyer of pain; he sings the Glorious Praises of the infinite Lord forever.
ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਅਤੇ ਦੀਨ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਵਿਚ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਕਾਲਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਨਿੰਦਕ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਬਦਨਾਮੀ ਖੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ)
The faces of the slanderers are blackened in the courts of this world, and the world beyond. ||2||15||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ) ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ (ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੇ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਦੁੱਖ-ਦਰਦ ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
Giving me His hand, He has protected me as His own, and removed all my troubles.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਪ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਕਾਲੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
He has blackened the faces of the slanderers, and He Himself has become the help and support of His humble servant. ||1||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ (ਸਦਾ ਹੀ) ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ।
The Supreme Lord God takes care of His humble servant.
(ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ ਉੱਕਾ ਹੀ ਅੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ । (ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹਵਾ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੱਦਲ ਉੱਡ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ ਸਦਾ) ਨਕਾਰੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉੱਡ ਗਏ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
The slanderers are not allowed to stay; they are pulled out by their roots, like useless weeds. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਰਲਾ ਉਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ) ਰਾਖਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The Creator Lord has become my protector; He has no end or limitation.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਦਾ ਰਾਖੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ; ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ।੨।੨੧।੫੨।
O Nanak, God has protected and saved His slaves; He has driven out and destroyed the slanderers. ||2||21||52||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ) ਹਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ
The slanderer, by Guru's Grace, has been turned away.
(ਜਿਸ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਉਤੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜੀ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਲਿਆਣ-ਸਰੂਪ ਹਰਿ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਤੀਰ ਨਾਲ (ਗੁਰੂ ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਸਿਰ ਕੱਟ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
The Supreme Lord God has become merciful; with Shiva's arrow, He shot his head off. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭਗਤ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਸੇਵਕ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ । ਉਹਨਾਂ (ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਭਗਤਾਂ) ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ) ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
They alone are devotees, and they alone are selfless servants, who love the Lord's Name.
(ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ) ਨਿੰਦਕ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ (ਤਾਂ ਜਗਤ ਵਲੋਂ) ਸੁਆਹ (ਹੀ) ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।੩।
By their selfless service, they find the Lord, while ashes fall on the heads of the slanderers. ||3||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਭੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ । ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ।
It is not good to slander anyone, but the foolish, self-willed manmukhs still do it.
ਉਹੀ ਬਦਨਾਮੀ ਖੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।੬।
The faces of the slanderers turn black, and they fall into the most horrible hell. ||6||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ।
God has granted His Mercy, and saved His slaves.
ਨਿੰਦਕ (ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਸਦਾ) ਸੜਦੇ-ਭੁੱਜਦੇ ਰਹੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਸਗੋਂ) ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਨੇ ਹੜੱਪ ਕੀਤੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
The slanderers rot in their slander; they are seized by the Messenger of Death. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਜਿਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਸੁਣ ਲਈ, ਜਿਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ,
God, the Great Giver, has become merciful; He has listened to my prayer.
ਆਪਣੇ ਉਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਸਦਾ) ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਦੋਖੀ-ਨਿੰਦਕ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਉਤੇ ਸੁਆਹ ਹੀ ਪਈ ਹੈ (ਨਿੰਦਕ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਫਿਟਕਾਰ ਹੀ ਪਈ ਹੈ) ।੧।
He has saved His servant, and put ashes into the mouth of the slanderer. ||1||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰੋ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੱਜਣੋ! (ਯਕੀਨ ਰੱਖੋ ਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ) ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The Lord of the Universe has saved my friends and companions.
(ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ (ਆਪ ਹੀ) ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ । (ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਤੁਸੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ-ਪਰਨਾ ਲਈ ਰੱਖੋ, ਤੇ ਨਿੰਦਕਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਬੇ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਰਹੋ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
The slanderers have died, so do not worry. ||1||Pause||
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਭੀ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਉੱਚਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਡਿੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਨਿੰਦਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਕੱਲਰ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੋੋਇਆ ਹੈ) ।
Thus, the slanderer crumbles away.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੁਣ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੱਲਰ ਦੀ ਕੰਧ (ਕਿਰ ਕਿਰ ਕੇ) ਡਿੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਇਹੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
This is the distinctive sign - listen, O Siblings of Destiny: he collapses like a wall of sand. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ (ਕੋਈ) ਨਿੰਦਕ (ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ) ਨੁਕਸ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਦੋਂ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਗੁਣ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
When the slanderer sees a fault in someone else, he is pleased. Seeing goodness, he is depressed.
ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੁਰਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੋਚਾਂ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਬੁਰਾਈ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ ਤਕ ਅੱਪੜ ਤਾਂ ਸਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਬੁਰਾਈ ਦੀ ਵਿਓਂਤ ਸੋਚਦਿਆਂ ਸੋਚਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨।
Twenty-four hours a day, he plots, but nothing works. The evil man dies, constantly thinking up evil plans. ||1||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਨਿੰਦਕ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਉਂ ਜਿਉਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਨਿੰਦਾ ਵਾਲੇ) ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਉਂ ਤਿਉਂ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਦੀ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The slanderer forgets God, death approaches him, and he starts to argue with the humble servant of the Lord.
ਪਰ ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ । ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਗਾੜ ਸਕਦੇ ।੨।੯।੯੫।
God Himself, the Lord and Master, is Nanak's protector. What can any wretched person do to him? ||2||9||95||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਗੁਰੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਾਸ-ਪੰੂਜੀ ਸਮੇਤ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਬਦਨਾਮੀ ਖੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ ।
Safe and sound, we have returned home, while the slanderer's face is blackened.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ—ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਰੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਆਏ ਵਡ-ਭਾਗੀਆਂ ਉਤੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨।੨੭।੧੧੩।
Says Nanak, my True Guru is Perfect; by the Grace of God and Guru, I am so happy. ||2||27||113||
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਭੈੜੇ ਬੰਦੇ (ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ) ਵਡਿਆਈ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਸਹਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਭਲਾਈ ਚੰਗੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦੀ ।
The slanderers and evil-doers cannot see this glorious greatness; they do not appreciate the goodness of others.
ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ (ਨਿੰਦਕ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ) ਦੇ ਝਖ ਮਾਰਿਆਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਕੁਝ ਵਿਗੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ।
What can be achieved by anyone babbling? The Guru is in love with the True Lord.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਭੀ ਅਟੱਲ ਹੈ । (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਸੁਆਹ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।
True is the Lord and Master, and true is His justice. The heads of the slanderers are covered with ashes.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ ।੫।
Servant Nanak worships the True Lord in adoration; as Gurmukh, he finds peace. ||5||
(ਜੇ) ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪਹਿਲਾਂ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਵੇ (ਪਰ) ਫਿਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਜਾਏ
If someone slanders the True Guru, and then comes seeking the Guru's Protection,
ਤਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਪਿਛਲੇ ਔਗੁਣ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
the True Guru forgives him for his past sins, and unites him with the Saints' Congregation.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ,
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, he meditates on the Formless Lord.
(ਪਰ ਉਸ) ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਸੁਆਹ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਨਿੰਦਕ ਬਦਨਾਮੀ ਹੀ ਖੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ) ।੧।
Dust is thrown into the faces of the slanderers. ||1||
ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਦੁਰਕਾਰ ਕੇ ਦਰ ਦਰ ਭਟਕਣ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੇ ਪਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
He puts illness into the mouths of the slanderers.
ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ (ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ) ਸਦਾ ਸੋਭਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ।੨।
All the people celebrate His victory. ||2||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
The faces of His companions become radiant and bright.
ਪਰ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ) ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਥਾਂ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।੩।
The slanderers lose all places of rest. ||3||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ-ਸਹਿਮ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
All fears are eradicated, in His Sanctuary.
ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਦੁਰਕਾਰ ਕੇ ਨੀਵੇਂ ਆਚਰਨ ਦੇ ਟੋਏ ਵਿਚ ਸੁੱਟ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹਨ।
Smashing all the slanderers, the Lord knocks them to the ground. ||4||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਦੇ, ਪਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ।
The Lord's humble servant has no vengeance. The slanderer is egotistical.
ਸੇਵਕ ਤਾਂ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੰਦਾ ਚਿਤਵਨ ਦੇ ਕੁਕਰਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ।
The Lord's humble servant wishes well, while the slanderer dwells on evil.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਨੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ (ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ) ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜੀ ਹੰੁਦੀ ਹੈ ।
The Sikh of the Guru meditates on the True Guru.
ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਸੇਵਕ ਤਾਂ (ਨਿੰਦਾ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੇ ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਬਚ ਨਿਕਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਨਿੰਦਕ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ) ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ ।੬।
The Lord's humble servants are saved, while the slanderer is cast into hell. ||6||
ਸਾਧੂ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਜਗਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਿਵਾਣਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੰਘ ਸਕਦ
How can the slanderer of the Holy Saints be saved?
ਕੀਨ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣੋ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
Know for certain, that he shall go to hell. ||1||Pause||
ਨੰਦਕ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਠੱਗੀ ਦੀ ਦੁਕਾਨ ਉੱਘੜ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।
The emptiness of the slanderer is soon exposed.
ਹੇ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ! ਆਖ—ਅਸਾਂ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੰਤ ਦਾ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੁਕਰਮੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੪।੨।੧੧।੭।੨।੪੯।
I have thought, and determined the fate of the slanderer.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਜਿਉਂ ਜਿਉਂ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਿਉਂ ਤਿਉਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣਦੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਇਉਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਡੰਗ ਵੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੩।
The more the Lord's exalted servants speak of Him, the more the slanderers attack and sting them. ||3||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਨਿੰਦਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਜੋਗ (ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ) ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਚੰਗੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦੇ ।
Cursed, cursed are the slanderers who do not like the humble, the friends and companions of the Lord.
(ਆਤਮਕ) ਮੌਤ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ (ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ) ਚੋਟ ਮਾਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਕਰਦੀ (ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ) ।
The Messenger of Death smashes his head and humiliates him.
(ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਵਿਚ) ਬੱਝੇ ਹੋਏ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ (ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਦੀ ਵਾਦੀ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਨਸੀਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਪਰਾਈ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ (ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ) ਸਦਾ ਗੋਤੇ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ।੧੧।
The slanderous person is not freed of his bonds; he is drowned, slandering others. ||11||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਨਾਮਣਾ ਖੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The Gurmukh is blessed with the glorious greatness of the Naam.
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ (ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਆਪਣੀ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਗਵਾ ਲਈ ।
The self-willed manmukh, the slanderer, loses his honor.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ) ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਸਾਧੂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਧੱਕੇ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਕੱਢੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।
Those who do not find such a Holy True Guru are beaten, and driven out of the Court of the Lord.
ਉਹ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ) ਸੋਭਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਂਦੇ । ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰ ਨੇ (ਆਪ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਨੱਕ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ।੩।
These slanderous people have no honor or reputation; their noses are cut by the Creator Lord. ||3||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ (ਵਾਂਗ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਆਪ ਰਾਖਾ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ
God is the Mother, the Father and the Protector of His slave.
(ਤਾਹੀਏਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ) ਦੋਖੀ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਦੁਹੀਂ ਸਰਾਈਂ ਕਾਲਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੩।
The face of the slanderer, here and hereafter, is blackened. ||3||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ (ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ) ਗਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ,
God hugs His slave close in His Embrace.
ਅਤੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ) ਦੋਖੀ ਨੂੰ (ਈਰਖਾ ਦੀ ਅੰਦਰੇ-ਅੰਦਰ ਧੁਖ ਰਹੀ) ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
He throws the slanderer into the fire. ||1||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
The Lord's slave is in love with the Dear Lord.
ਪਰ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਦਾ (ਨਿੰਦਾ-ਈਰਖਾ ਆਦਿਕ) ਭੈੜੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨।
The slanderer loves something else. ||2||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕਿਸੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਦੇ ਆਚਰਨ ਉਤੇ ਅਣਹੋਏ ਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਲਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਈ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
Slandering the Saints, the mortal wanders in reincarnation.
ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੂਸ਼ਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੂਸ਼ਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
Slandering the Saints, he is diseased.
(ਇਸ ਦਾ ਨਤੀਜਾ ਇਹ ਨਿਕਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਥੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ) ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ (ਕਈ ਆਤਮਕ) ਦੁੱਖ ਸਹਾਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ
Slandering the Saints, he suffers in pain.
(ਤੇ ਅਗਾਂਹ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ) ਨਿੰਦਕ ਨੂੰ ਜਮਰਾਜ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
The slanderer is punished by the Messenger of Death. ||1||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਝਗੜਾ ਖੜਾ ਕਰੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ,
Those who argue and fight with the Saints
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਿੰਦਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
- those slanderers find no happiness at all. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਚਿੱਕੜ ਸੁੱਟਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਦੀ
The slanderer finds no salvation at all.
(ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਮਾੜਾ ਬੀਜ) ਬੀਜ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
He eats only that which he himself has planted.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਚੋਰ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਿਭਚਾਰੀ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਜੂਆਰੀਏ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਭੀ ਭੈੜਾ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
He is worse than a thief, a lecher, or a gambler.
ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਭਾਰ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ ।੩।
The slanderer places an unbearable burden upon his head. ||3||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਹਮਤਾਂ ਲਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਫਿਟਕਾਰਾਂ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹ
The entire universe curses the slanderer.
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਗਤ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਤੁਹਮਤਾਂ ਲਾਣ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਕਸਬ ਝੂਠਾ ਹੈ ।
False are the dealings of the slanderer.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਤੁਹਮਤਾਂ ਲਾ ਲਾ ਕੇ) ਤੁਹਮਤਾਂ ਲਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਚਰਨ ਹੀ ਗੰਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The slanderer's lifestyle is filthy and polluted.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ) ਤੁਹਮਤਾਂ ਲਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੁਹਮਤਾਂ ਲਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਸੁਹਬਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The slanderer dies with the rest of the slanderers.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਨੇ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡਿੱਗਣ ਵਲੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ) ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਹਮਤਾਂ ਲਾਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ (ਸਦਾ) ਗੱਜਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
The Supreme Lord God, the Transcendent Lord, protects and saves His humble servant. Death roars and thunders over the head of the slanderer. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਹਮਤਾਂ ਲਾਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦਾ
No one belives what the slanderer says.
ਤੁਹਮਤਾਂ ਲਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲ ਕੇ (ਫਿਰ) ਅਫ਼ਸੋਸ ਹੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
The slanderer tells lies, and later regrets and repents.
(ਨਸ਼ਰ ਹੋਣ ਤੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ) ਹੱਥ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ ਧਰਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਟਕਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ) ।
He wrings his hands, and hits his head against the ground.
(ਪਰ ਊਜਾਂ ਲਾਣ ਦੀ ਵਾਦੀ ਵਿਚ ਦੋਖੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਫਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਦੋਖੀ ਨੂੰ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਤਣੇ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਜਾਲ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਂਦਾ ।੨।
The Lord does not forgive the slanderer. ||2||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਭਗਤ (ਉਸ ਦੋਖੀ ਦਾ ਭੀ) ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਬੁਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਗਦਾ (ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਹੋਵੇ ।
The Lord's slave does not wish anyone ill.
ਫਿਰ ਭੀ) ਦੋਖੀ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਕਰਤੂਤ ਦਾ ਅਜਿਹਾ) ਦੁੱਖ ਅੱਪੜਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਬਰਛੀ (ਲੱਗਣ) ਦਾ (ਦੁੱਖ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ।
The slanderer suffers, as if stabbed by a spear.
(ਇਹ ਸੋਭਾ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ) ਨਿੰਦਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੜੇ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਤੇ ਬੜਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ
All sorts of troubles and pains afflicted the slanderer.
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਕਿ) ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਵਿੱਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਗਈ ।੨੭, ੨੮।੧।੧੦।
There is no difference between Naam Dayv and the Lord. ||28||1||10||
ਪਰ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਲੋਭ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਮਨੋਂ ਕਠੋਰ ਹਨ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਦ੍ਰਵਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ)
The slanderous and greedy people are hard-hearted.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਚੰਗੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਉਹ ਮਹਾਂ ਚੋਰ ਹਨ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਚੋਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ) ।੨।
Those who do not love to serve the Guru are the most thieving of thieves. ||2||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਜਪਣ ਦਾ ਸਦਕਾ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ (ਲੋਕ-ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਸੋਭਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਸੇਵਕ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਸੋਭਾ ਖੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The Lord's Name is the praise of His humble servant. It brings him honor in the ten directions.
ਪਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁੱਟਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਨੂੰ) ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਜਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਹ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਸੇਵਕ ਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਗਾੜ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਹ) ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ (ਹੀ ਈਰਖਾ ਤੇ ਸਾੜੇ ਦੀ) ਚੁਆਤੀ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ (ਨਿੰਦਕ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਅੰਦਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੜਦਾ-ਭੁੱਜਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ।੬।
The slanderers and the faithless cynics cannot endure it at all; they have set fire to their own houses. ||6||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਇਹੀ ਹਾਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ । ਨਿੰਦਕ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਲਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਖ਼ਿਰ ਜਦੋਂ) ਜਮਦੂਤ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਨੂੰ ਆ ਫੜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ (ਮੌਤ ਦੀ) ਚੋਟ ਆ ਚਲਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।
The Messenger of Death comes to slaughter the slanderer; he beats him on his head.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ) ਨਿੰਦਕ ਆਪਣੀ ਛੁਰੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੀ ਚਲਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮ ਲਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨।੮੨।੧੦੫।
O Nanak, he cuts himself with his own dagger, and damages his own mind. ||2||82||105||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਨਿਸਫਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।
The slanderer is destroyed in mid-stream.
ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੂੰਹ ਮੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
Our Lord and Master is the Saving Grace, the Protector of His humble servants; those who have turned their backs on the Guru are overtaken by death. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ (ਹੈ—ਇਹ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਹੈ
It is God's Nature to love His devotees.
(ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਨੀਵਾਂ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਪੈਰਾਂ ਹੇਠ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਆਪਣੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਖਿਲਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
He destroys the slanderers, crushing them beneath His Feet. His Glory is manifest everywhere. ||1||Pause||
ਚੋਰਾਂ ਵਿਭਚਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਜੂਏ-ਬਾਜ਼ (ਆਦਿਕ ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਇਉਂ ਹਾਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਕੋਲ੍ਹੂ ਵਿਚ ਪੀੜੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ;
Thieves, adulterers and gamblers are pressed like seeds in the mill.
ਨਿੰਦਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਚੁਗ਼ਲਖ਼ੋਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਨੋ, ਨਿੰਦਾ ਤੇ ਚੁਗ਼ਲੀ ਦੀ) ਹਥਕੜੀ ਵੱਜੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਇਸ ਭੈੜੀ ਵਾਦੀ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ) ।
Slanderers and gossipers are hand-cuffed.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਈਰਖਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ।
The humble servant of the Lord is lovingly attuned to the Lord, Har, Har, Har; all the faithless cynics pursue him.
(ਪਰ ਸਾਕਤ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਭੀ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ?) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਸਰ ਹੇਠ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਨਿੰਦਾ ਵਾਲੀ) ਜੀਵਨ ਤੋਰ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤਿਉਂ ਤਿਉਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਈਰਖਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ) ਛੁਹ ਕੇ ਸੜਦਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਪੈਰ ਸਪਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਛੁਹ ਕੇ (ਸਪਣੀ ਦੇ ਡੰਗ ਮਾਰਨ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।੨।
The slanderous person acts in accordance with the record of his past deeds; his foot trips over the snake, and he is stung by its bite. ||2||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਜੀਵ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਰਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਹਿਮ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਕੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਢਹੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਅਜੇਹੇ ਲੁੱਟੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਜੇਹੇ ਲੁਟਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ) ।
Such is the falsehood which is plundering the world.
(ਨਿਰੀਆਂ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਕ ਰਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ) ਮਾੜਾ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ (ਪਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ) ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
The slanderer slanders me, but even so, I love him. ||1||Pause||
(ਉਥੇ ਆਂਢ-ਗੁਆਂਢ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ) ਜੀਅ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ । (ਪਰ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਈਰਖਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ) ਸੜ ਸੜ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।
People praise and congratulate the devotee of the Lord, while the slanderers rot and die.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਸੱਜਣ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ।੧੮।
Says Nanak, O friend, chant the Naam, and your mind shall be filled with bliss. ||18||
ਚੁਗ਼ਲੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਦੁਖੀ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਇਸ ਭੈੜੀ ਦਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਣ ਲਈ) ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ ।
The gossipers and slanderers shall remain hungry and die, rolling in the dust; their hands cannot reach anywhere.
(ਅਜਿਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਖੋਟ ਕਮਾ ਕੇ ਬਾਹਰ (ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਾਣ ਲਈ) ਵਿਖਾਵੇ ਦੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ।
Outwardly, they do all the proper deeds, but they are hypocrites; in their minds and hearts, they practice deception and fraud.
