(ਹੇ ਮਨ ! ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ) ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਅੱਗੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ, ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ-ਸਹਮ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹ
So offer your prayers to Him, the Giver of Peace, the Destroyer of fear.
ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਮਿਹਰ (ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ) ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਭਾਰੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਸਿਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।੩।
Showing His Mercy, the Merciful Master shall resolve your affairs. ||3||
(ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ (ਆਦਿਕ) ਬਥੇਰੇ ਸਾਕ-ਅੰਗ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ (ਸਦਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਭਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ
Your mother and father and all your relations-without Him, there are none at all.
(ਸਿਮਰਨ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ), ਜੇ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ (ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ) ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਦਾ ।੧।
If God Himself bestows His Mercy, then He is not forgotten, even for an instant. ||1||
ਹੇ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਤ੍ਰੁੱਠ ਪਏਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਸਹਿਜ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ
When You are pleased, O Merciful Lord, you automatically come to dwell within my mind.
ਜੀਵ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਨੌ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ (ਹਿਰਦੇ) ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲੱਭ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ
When You are pleased, O Merciful Lord, I find the nine treasures within the home of my own self.
(ਤੇਰਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜੀਵ ਸਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬਾ ਹੋਇਆ (ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ) ਚੰਬੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੀ ਗੰਢ ਬੱਝੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ।
People are intoxicated by emotional attachment, entangled in doubt and family life.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਤਰ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ
Nanak: they are saved only by Your Mercy, Lord. ||4||21||32||
ਹੇ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਚਨਹਾਰ! ਹੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰ ਕੇ
Be kind and compassionate to me, O Creator Lord.
ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ।
Bless me with devotion and meditation, O Lord Creator.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ ।
When the Lord and Master grants His Grace, then we meditate on Him.
(ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ ।
