(ਹੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ!) ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਵਾਰੀ ਭੀ ਸਦਕੇ ਹੋਣ ਜੋਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ।

ਮੇਰੀ ਕੀਹ ਤਾਕਤ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂ?
How can Your Creative Potency be described?
(ਹੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ!) ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਵਾਰੀ ਭੀ ਸਦਕੇ ਹੋਣ ਜੋਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ ।

ਮੇਰੀ ਕੀਹ ਤਾਕਤ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਦੀ ਵੀਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂ?
How can I describe Your Creative Power?
(ਹੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ!) ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਵਾਰੀ ਭੀ ਸਦਕੇ ਹੋਣ ਜੋਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ ।
I cannot even once be a sacrifice to You.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦੂਰ ਭੀ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ
He Himself is near, and He Himself is far away; He Himself is in-between.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੀ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੱਤਿਆ ਨਾਲ ਜਗਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ
He Himself beholds, and He Himself listens. By His Creative Power, He created the world.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਅੱਟਲ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਥਾਂ ਭੀ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ
True is His Empire, and True is His Command. True is His Seat of True Authority.
ਉਸ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਅਟੱਲ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਰਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹ
True is the Creative Power which He has created. True is the world which He has fashioned.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਜਗਤ-ਰਚਨਾ ਰਚਦਾ ਹੈ
He alone knows His Creative Power; He Himself does all deeds.
ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ) ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ ।੪।
He beholds all in His Vision. He gives to those with whom He is pleased. ||4||
ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਉੱਤੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖ ਕੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਧੰਧਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ
and assigned tasks to one and all.
ਤੂੰ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਰਚ ਕੇ (ਜਗਤ-ਚਉਪੜ ਦੀਆਂ) ਜੀਵ-ਨਰਦਾਂ ਸੁੱਟ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਚੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ।੨।
You watch over Your Creation, and through Your All-powerful Creative Potency, You cast the dice. ||2||
ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ (ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਇਸ ਵਿਚ) ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ
He created the Creative Power of the Universe, within which He dwells.
ਇੱਥੇ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ) ਦੇ ਸਮੇ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਜੋ ਇਹ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਕਾਹਦੇ ਲਈ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ) ਉਹ (ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ) ਸੇਵਕ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ
One who reflects upon his allotted span of life, becomes the slave of God.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਆਪਣੀ ਰਚੀ) ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਪੈ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ;
The value of the Creative Power of the Universe cannot be known.
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮੁੱਲ ਪਾਣ ਦਾ ਜਤਨ ਭੀ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ
Even if its value were known, it could not be described.
ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਤੇ ਅਨਾਥ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ
You are the Pride of the meek and the poor.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ! (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ । ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ।੧।
You are everything; You are my Beloved. I am a sacrifice to Your Creative Power. ||1||
ਤੇਰੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ, ਤੇਰੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ।
His Creative Power and His Bounties cannot be described.
ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ (ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ‑ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ) ਸ਼ਬਦ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ ।੨।
Your humble servants live by meditating, meditating on You. Their minds treasure the True Word of the Shabad. ||2||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ,
He Himself created and adorned the Universe, and He Himself contemplates it.
(ਪਰ ਇਥੇ) ਕਈ ਜੀਵ ਖੋਟੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਦੇ ਮਾਪ ਤੋਂ ਹੌਲੇ ਹਨ) ਤੇ ਕਈ (ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਸਿੱਕੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਖਰੇ ਹਨ, (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਪਰਖ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਭੀ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ ।
Some are counterfeit, and some are genuine. He Himself is the Appraiser.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ! ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ-ਅਵਸਥਾ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ, ਰਤਾ-ਮਾਤ੍ਰ ਦੱਸੀ ਹੈ,
He has been described, but He cannot be described at all.
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ! ਤੇਰੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਦਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ (ਭਾਵ, ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਹੈ—ਇਹ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ) ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
Your All-pervading creative nature cannot be estimated. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਦਿਨ ਤੇ ਰਾਤ (ਵਰਗੇ ਕੌਤਕ) ਬਣਾਏ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਇਸ) ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਸਚ-ਮੁਚ (ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਵਡਿਆਈਆਂ ਵਾਲਾ) ਮਲੂਮ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ;
The True Lord is truly known for His all-powerful creative nature; He fashioned the days and the nights.
(ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਸੱਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਆਖਾਂ ।
I praise that True Lord, forever and ever; True is the glorious greatness of the True Lord.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਸਦਾ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
He is near at hand; He is the eternal Companion of the soul.
ਉਸੇ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਕਲਾ ਸਭ ਰੂਪਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਭ ਰੰਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ।੧।
His Creative Power is all-pervading, in form and color. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—ਜੀਵਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ? ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਰੀਰ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ (ਜੀਵਾਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਕਾਂਇਆਂ ਦਾ ਜੋੜ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ) ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਵਿਛੋੜ ਵੀ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
O Nanak, having fashioned the body, the Lord unites the soul with it, and separates them again;
(ਜੀਵਾਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਕਾਂਇਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋੜਨ ਵਿਛੋੜਨ ਦੀ) ਆਪਣੀ ਅਜਬ ਖੇਡ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ।੪।੩੧।੮੨।
He alone knows His All-powerful creative nature. ||4||31||82||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਮਾਲਕ! ਤੇਰਾ ਵਡੱਪਣ ਭੀ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।
O My True Lord Master, True is Your glorious greatness.
ਤੂੰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਹੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ।
You are the Supreme Lord God, the Infinite Lord and Master. Your creative power cannot be described.
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਜਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮਣਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ।
He Himself created Himself; He Himself assumed His Name.
ਫਿਰ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਰਚੀ (ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਵਿਚ) ਆਸਣ ਜਮਾ ਕੇ, (ਭਾਵ, ਕੁਦਰਤ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਇਸ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ) ਆਪ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਵੇਖਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ।
Secondly, He fashioned the creation; seated within the creation, He beholds it with delight.
ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਇਕ ਅਟੱਲ ਸਿਲਸਿਲਾ ਹੈ;
True is Your Praise, True is Your Adoration.
ਹੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਹੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਇਕ ਨਾ ਮੁੱਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਬੰਧ ਹੈ ।
True is Your almighty creative power, True King.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਦਿੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਸੁਣੀ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਸਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਕਲਾ ਹੈ; ਇਹ ਭਉ ਜੋ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਹੈ ।
By His Power we see, by His Power we hear; by His Power we have fear, and the essence of happiness.
ਪਤਾਲਾਂ ਤੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਅਕਾਰ (ਭਾਵ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਜੋ ਦਿੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ) ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਅਚਰਜ ਖੇਡ ਹੈ ।
By His Power the nether worlds exist, and the Akaashic ethers; by His Power the entire creation exists.
ਵੇਦ, ਪੁਰਾਣ ਤੇ ਕਤੇਬਾਂ, (ਹੋਰ ਭੀ) ਸਾਰੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ-ਸੱਤਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਕਲਾ ਹੈ;
By His Power the Vedas and the Puraanas exist, and the Holy Scriptures of the Jewish, Christian and Islamic religions. By His Power all deliberations exist.
(ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ) ਖਾਣ, ਪੀਣ, ਪੈਨ੍ਹਣ (ਦਾ ਵਿਹਾਰ) ਅਤੇ (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਸਾਰਾ ਪਿਆਰ (ਦਾ ਜਜ਼ਬਾ) ਇਹ ਸਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਹੈ ।
By His Power we eat, drink and dress; by His Power all love exists.
ਜਾਤਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਜਿਨਸਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਰੰਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਵਰਤ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ,
- By His Power come the species of all kinds and colors; by His Power the living beings of the world exist.
(ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਕਿਤੇ ਭਲਾਈ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਕਿਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਹਨ; ਕਿਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਤੇ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਪਰਧਾਨ ਹੈ—ਇਹ ਤੇਰਾ ਅਚਰਜ ਕੌਤਕ ਹੈ ।
By His Power virtues exist, and by His Power vices exist. By His Power come honor and dishonor.
ਪਉਣ, ਪਾਣੀ, ਅੱਗ, ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਕ (ਆਦਿਕ ਤੱਤ), ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਹਨ ।
By His Power wind, water and fire exist; by His Power earth and dust exist.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਸਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਕਲਾ ਵਰਤ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਖੇਲ ਦਾ ਰਚਨਹਾਰ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸੁੱਚੀ ਤੋਂ ਸੁੱਚੀ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ (ਹਸਤੀ ਵਾਲਾ) ਹੈਂ ।
Everything is in Your Power, Lord; You are the all-powerful Creator. Your Name is the Holiest of the Holy.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਕਰਨਹਾਰ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਹੈਂ (ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਭੇਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈਂ), ਮੇਰੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਸਮਝ ਸਕਾਂ) । ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਸਮਝ ਲਵਾਂ (ਭਾਵ, ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਵਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਭੇਤ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ) ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਫਬਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ।੧।
You are the Creator Lord; I can do nothing. Even if I try, nothing happens. ||1||
ਹੇ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ,
I am a sacrifice to Your almighty creative power which is pervading everywhere.
ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਸਾਡੀ (ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ) ਕੀਹ ਪਾਇਆਂ ਹੈ? ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਸੀ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਾਂ ।
As You cause me to speak, so do I speak, O Lord Master. What other power do I have?
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਬੜੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ ।੮।੧।੮।
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, O Nanak, sing His Praises; they are so very dear to God. ||8||1||8||
ਇਕ ਪਲਕ ਵਿਚ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਰੂਪ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ
By His creative power, He assumes numerous forms in an instant.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸੱਚ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
One whom the Lord attaches to the Truth is redeemed.
ਤੇਰੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਵੇਖ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ ।
I am wonderstruck beholding the wonder of Your Almighty Creative Power.
(ਤੇਰੇ) ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਹਰ) ਕਰ
I seek Your Sanctuary - I am Your slave; if it is Your Will, I shall be emancipated.
ਹੇ ਸੁਜਾਨ ਤੇ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ ।
I know that You are all-wise, O God, my Lord and Master; I seek Your Sanctuary.
ਹੇ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਤੇਰੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ ।੧।੭।
In an instant, You establish and disestablish; the value of Your Almighty Creative Power cannot be estimated. ||2||7||
ਤੇ, ਤੇਰਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
We chant Your Name, which You have given to us. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ । ਤੇਰੀ ਰਚੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਭੀ ਹੈਰਾਨਗੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
You are wonderful! Your creative potency is amazing! ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—) ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਹ ਜਗਤ ਇਕ ਖੇਡ ਹੈ (ਖੇਡ ਬਣਦੀ ਢਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ) ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਮਰਨ ਤੇ ਰੋਣਾ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੈ ।
Nanak: for whom should we mourn, O Baba? This world is merely a play.
ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਆਪ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੀ ਰਚੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਦਾ ਆਪ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ । ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਚੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ
The Lord Master beholds His work, and contemplates His creative potency.
ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਸਰਾ-ਸਹਾਰਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਜਗਤ ਰਚਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਇਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੋੜਾਂ ਭੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ।
He contemplates His creative potency, having established the Universe. He who created it, He alone knows.
ਜੀਵ-ਉਤਪੱਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਚਾਰ ਖਾਣੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੋਲੀਆਂ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਰਚੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ । ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ।
The four sources of creation, and the power of the Word, are also of Your making. You give Support to all beings.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਚਨਾ (-ਰੂਪ) ਤਖ਼ਤ ਤੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਬੈਠਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ (ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੇਖ ਭੀ) ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੁਕਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ।੨।
You have made the Creation as Your Throne; You are the True Judge. ||2||
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਜਗਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਭੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਸ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਸਮਝ ।
The One who creates and dissolves the world - that Lord and Master alone knows His creative power.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ (ਰਚੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਤੋਂ) ਦੂਰ (ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਥਾਂ) ਲੱਭਣ ਦਾ ਜਤਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ।
Do not search for the True Lord far away; recognize the Word of the Shabad in each and every heart.
ਧੁਰੋਂ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ) ਹੀ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ (ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ) ਲੇਖ (ਉੱਕਰਿਆ ਪਿਆ) ਹੈ । ਕੋਈ ਜੀਵ ਐਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਇਸ ਲੇਖ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਨਾਹ ਹੋਵੇ ।
Destiny, pre-ordained by the Lord, looms over the heads of all beings; no one is without this pre-ordained destiny.
ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਇਸ (ਕਰਮ-) ਲੇਖ ਤੋਂ ਸੁਤੰਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਨੂੰ ਰਚ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ (ਜਗਤ-ਕਾਰ) ਚਲਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
Only He Himself is beyond destiny; creating the creation by His creative power, He beholds it, and causes His Command to be followed. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਮਾਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ
O Dear Lord, You are the honor of the dishonored.
ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ । ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੇਰਾ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨਕਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਆਦਰ-ਜੋਗ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।ਰਹਾਉ।
You make the unworthy ones worthy, O my Lord of the Universe; I am a sacrifice to Your almighty creative power. ||Pause||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਰੰਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ; ਤੇਰੀ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦੀ । ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੋਚ ਸਕਦਾ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਕਿਤਨੀ ਕੁ ਤਾਕਤ ਹੈ
Your color is not known, and Your form is not seen; who can contemplate Your Almighty Creative Power?
ਹੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ! ਤੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈਂ ।੩।
You are contained in the water, the land and the sky, everywhere, O Lord of unfathomable form, Holder of the mountain. ||3||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਠੱਗ-ਬੂਟੀ ਲੱਭ ਪਈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਰੱਜ ਰੱਜ ਕੇ ਪੀ ਲਿਆ
Those, unto whom You give the intoxicating herb of Your Love, drink in the supreme sublime essence.
ਉਸ (ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ) ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਦੱਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ । ਮੇਰੀ ਕੀਹ ਤਾਕਤ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਦੱਸ ਸਕਾਂ)? ।੧।
I cannot describe their value; what power do I have? ||1||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਹ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ
His creative potency and His value cannot be known; He is the Great and carefree Lord.
ਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ! ਜਿਤਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਆਸ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਤਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ ।੩।
O human being, meditate on the Lord, as long as there is breath in your body. ||3||
ਹੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰ, ਇਕ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ (ਮੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ) ਹੈਂ
Give me Your help, O brave and generous Lord; You are the One, You are the Only Lord.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—) ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਹੇ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਦੇ ਰਚਨਹਾਰ! ਹੇ ਖ਼ਲਕਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ ।੨।੫।
O Creator Lord, by Your creative potency, You created the world; Nanak holds tight to Your support. ||2||5||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਚੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ
He alone is approved, who pleases the Lord.
ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਸਿਰ-ਮੱਥੇ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਜੀਵ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ) ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
Only He Himself knows His creative omnipotence. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਜਗਤ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ
You created all beings and creatures. Each and every heart meditates on You.
ਤੂੰ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਕੇਡਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈਂ—ਇਹ ਭੇਤ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ । ਤੇਰੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ ।੩।
Your condition and expanse are known only to You; the value of Your creative omnipotence cannot be estimated. ||3||
(ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ) ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮਨ-ਮੰਗੀਆਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਈਆਂ । (ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੇਰੀ ਇਸ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ।
All the fruits of the mind's desires are obtained; His creative power is infinitely valuable.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ—ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਭੀ) ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, (ਮੇਰਾ) ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਰਹੇ ।੩।
Says Nanak, please be Merciful to me, God, that my mind may follow Your Path forever. ||3||
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕਾਮ ਕੋ੍ਰਧ ਲੋਭ ਝੂਠ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਆਦਿਕ ਤੋਂ) ਇਸ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
This mind is saved through the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਇਸ ਰਚਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਨਾਸ ਭੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ । ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਖੇਲ ਹਨ ।੨।
In an instant, He establishes and disestablishes, by His Creative Power. All is the Creation of the Creator. ||2||
ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, (ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਬਿਰਖ ਆਦਿਕ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਮਹਲ ਮਾੜੀਆਂ ਬਣਾਏ ਹਨ;
Through His almighty creative power, He created and fashioned the mansions and hotels.
ਇਹਨਾਂ ਮਹਲ ਮਾੜੀਆਂ (ਵਿਚ) ਚੰਦ ਤੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੋਵੇਂ (ਮਾਨੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਜਗਾਏ ਹੋਏ) ਦੀਵੇ ਹਨ ।
He made the two lamps, the sun and the moon; He formed the perfect form.
ਉਸ ਅਲੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਰਚੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ ।
The value of God's almighty creative power cannot be estimated.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ, (ਉਹ ਇਕ ਐਸਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ) ਡੂੰਘਾਈ ਲੱਭ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਹ ਪਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ ।
He is inaccessible, unfathomable, endless, the farthest of the far.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰਾ ਹੁਕਮ (ਸਦਾ) ਠੀਕ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਜੀਵ ਨੇ (ਕਦੇ) ਉਹ ਮੋੜਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ।
True is Your Command; no one can challenge it.
ਹੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਰਚਨਹਾਰ! ਹੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! (ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ) ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ (ਰਚੀ ਹੋਈ) ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਹੈ ।੧੬।
O Merciful Lord, Cause of causes, Your creative power is all-powerful. ||16||
ਉਸ (ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ) ਨੇ ਐਸੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਵਿਖਾਈ ਕਿ (ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਬਾਬਾ ਲਹਣਾ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਮਨ) ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ ਇਤਨੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਖਿਆ,
He revealed such creative power, and touched such greatness.
(ਫਿਰ) ਬਾਬਾ ਲਹਣਾ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ (ਗੁਰਿਆਈ ਦਾ) ਛਤਰ ਧਰਿਆ ਤੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਸੋਭਾ ਅਸਮਾਨ ਤਕ ਅਪੜਾਈ ।
He raised the royal canopy to wave over the head of Lehna, and raised His glory to the skies.
ਇਸ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਨੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਅਖਵਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਹਨ ।
Your servants are the greatest of the great, throughout the three worlds.
ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਰਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ । ਤੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਰਾਜ਼ਕ ਹੈਂ ।੧੫।
Your creative power permeates all; You are the Great Giver of all. You created the whole creation. ||15||
ਉਹ ਅਪਰ ਤੇ ਅਪਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਹਾਰੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਆਸਰੇ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ) ।
He Himself is unattached, infinite and incomparable.
ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਿਰੋਲ ਉਹ ਹਾਲਤ ਭੀ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਰਚ ਕੇ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
He Himself exercised His Creative Power, and He gazes upon His creation; from the Primal Void, He formed the Void. ||1||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਵਿਆਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ।
He alone is fearless, who has no destiny written on His head.
ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਅਲੇਖ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਗ ਸਕਦਾ) ।
God Himself is unseen; He reveals Himself through His wondrous creative power.
ਇਸ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਰਚਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦਾ ।
The Creator Lord is infinite; His creative power is wondrous.
ਕੋਈ ਜੀਵ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਅੜਨਾ ਚਾਹੇ, ਤਾਂ) ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੀਵ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ।
Created beings have no power over Him.
(ਇਕ ਉਹ ਹਨ ਜੇਹੜੇ) ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ
Seeing the Lord's creative power, my mind remains satisfied.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਪਛਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ
Through the Guru's Shabad, I have realized that all is God.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਰਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
He contemplates His own creative power.
ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ-ਖਿਲਾਰਾ ਬਣਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ।
The True Lord Himself creates the expanse of the Universe.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰਾ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।
Your place is forever True, O God.
ਹੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ! ਤੇਰੀ ਰਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਤੇ (ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਬਣਤਰ ਅਟੱਲ ਨਿਯਮਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ । ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਇਸ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਵਿਚ) ਅਟੱਲ ਸੁਖ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ।੫।
True is Your Creative Power, and True is the Word of Your Bani. True is the peace which You give, O my Lord and Master. ||5||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਉਸੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਨ ।
All beings and creatures meditate on Him.
ਆਪਣੀ ਕੁਦਰਤ (ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ) ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ । ਮਿਹਰ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਸਭ ਵਲ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ।੭।
He Himself knows His creative power; He blesses with His Glance of Grace. ||7||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—) ਹੇ ਖ਼ੁਦਾ ਦੇ ਬੰਦੇ! ਕਾਦਰ ਦੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਨੂੰ, ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿੰਦ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਰਚੇ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ,
The Creator Lord has Creative Power; the Merciful Lord has Mercy.
ਬੇਅੰਤ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਰਹਿਮ-ਦਿਲ ਖ਼ੁਦਾ ਦੀ ਮੁਹੱਬਤ ਤੇ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਨੂੰ,
The Praises and the Love of the Merciful Lord are unfathomable.
ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਵਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ ।
You created the entire universe; You are the Master of all the worlds.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਮਾਲਕ! ਕੋਈ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਦਾ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਾ ਸਕਦਾ ।
No one knows Your creative power, O my all-pervading Lord and Master.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਆਪ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈਂ, (ਸਭ ਵਿਚ) ਆਪਣੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਵਿਖਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ।
You are pervading and permeating all; You Yourself reveal Your creative potency.
(ਤੇਰੇ ਪਾਸ) ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਭਰੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਕਦੇ ਮੁੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ,
Your treasures of devotional worship are overflowing; they never decrease.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀ ਰਚੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਇਕ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨ ਸਲਾਹੁਣ-ਜੋਗ ਹਨ ।
Your Creative Power is marvellous, and Your Lotus Feet are admirable.
ਹੇ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ (ਇਕ) ਅਮੋਲਕ (ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ) ਹੈ ।੨।
Your Praise is priceless, O True King. ||2||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੰਦੀ ਰਹਿਣੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਇਸ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਵਿਚ (ਇਸ ਦੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸਦਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਪਛਾਣ ਸਕਦਾ ।
One who does not know the Lord's Creative Power is polluted.
ਜੇ ਬਾਹਰਲਾ ਚੌਕਾ ਲਿਪਿਆ ਜਾਏ (ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਬਾਹਰਲੀ ਸੁੱਚ ਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸੁੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ ।
Ritualistically plastering one's kitchen square does not make it pure in the Eyes of the Lord.
(ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਉਮੈ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਰੱਬ ਆਪਣੀ ਅੱਖੀਂ ਦਿੱਸੇਗਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵੱਸੇਗੀ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਬੋਲ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ।
Whoever sees the Lord's Creative Power with his eyes, and hears the Guru's Bani with his ears, and utters the True Name with his mouth,
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਦਾ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਧਨ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਇਗਾ, ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹੇਗੀ ।੩।
attains the perfect wealth of honor, and intuitively focuses his meditation on the Lord. ||3||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਾਜ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਰਚਦਾ ਹੈ,
By His Creative Power, God fashioned the creation.
(ਇਸ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਵਿਚ) ਆਪਣਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਚਲਾ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ) ਫ਼ੈਸਲੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The King of kings Himself adminsters true justice.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ (ਤਾਕਤ) ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ (ਤੇਰੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਨੂੰ) ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝ ਸਕਦਾ ।
You alone know Your Creative Power, O Lord; no one else knows it.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੂੰ (ਆਪ) ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
He alone realizes You, O my Beloved, unto whom You show Your Mercy. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! ਤੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਖਸਮ ਹੈਂ, ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਜੇ ਤੂੰ (ਇਹੀ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਕਿ ਇਥੇ ਇਸਲਾਮੀ ਰਾਜ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ) ਤਾਂ ਸਾਡੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੀਹ ਤਾਕਤ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਗਿਲਾ ਕਰ ਸਕੀਏ)?
You, O my Lord and Master, are the King of the earth; what power do I have to challenge You?
ਚਹੁੰ ਕੂਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵ, ਹੇ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹ! ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਲਾਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਹੀ ਨਿਊਂਦੇ ਹਨ) ਹਰੇਕ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ (ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਤਕਲੀਫ਼ਾਂ ਦੱਸ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ।੭।
In the four directions, people bow in humble adoration to You; Your Praises are sung in each and every heart. ||7||
ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈਂ, ਅਸੀ ਜੀਵ (ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ) ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਨਿੱਕੇ ਤੇ ਨੀਵੇਂ (ਕੀੜੇ ਜਿਹੇ) ਹਾਂ । ਮੇਰੀ ਕੀਹ ਤਾਕਤ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਰਤਾਪ ਦਾ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ਾ ਲਾ ਸਕਾਂ?
I am lowly, I am nothing at all; You are my Great Lord and Master - how can I even contemplate Your creative potency?
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ—ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਠੰਢਾ ਠਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਆਸਰਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੮।੧।
My mind and body are cooled and soothed, gazing upon the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan. Nanak takes the Support of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||8||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਰਚਨਾ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ।
He Himself created the world; He contemplates His Creative Omnipotence.
ਪਰ, ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਐਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਕੇ) ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਵਿਰਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਅਗਾਂਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਮੰਗਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ
The self-willed manmukh will be called to account hereafter; he will be severely punished.
You Yourself unite, and You Yourself separate; You display Your Creative Omnipotence.
ਕੂੜ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ) ਮੋਹ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਵਿਛੋੜਾ ਵਿਆਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ (ਮੁੜ) ਉਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ) ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ
Attachment brings the sorrow of separation; the mortal acts in accordance with pre-ordained destiny.
ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਖ਼ੁਦਾ ਦਾ ਨੂਰ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਜਗਤ) ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਅ-ਜੰਤ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਬਣਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ । ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਜੋਤ ਤੋਂ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ।
First, Allah created the Light; then, by His Creative Power, He made all mortal beings.
(ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਜਾਤ ਮਜ਼ਹਬ ਦੇ ਭੁਲੇਖੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਦਾ ਨਾਹ ਸਮਝੋ ।੧।
From the One Light, the entire universe welled up. So who is good, and who is bad? ||1||
ਹੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹਰੀ! ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਤੇ ਪਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ (ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ); ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਇਕ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਹੈਂ । ਤੇਰਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ।
O Lord, there is no end or limit to Your Glorious Virtues; all beings and creatures are Yours. You are the Giver of all, the One Invisible Lord.
(ਹਰੀ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਸਰਾ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਵਿਖਾਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਨਾਹ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ) ਰੰਗ ਹੈ ਨਾ (ਕੋਈ) ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ, ਨਾਹ ਮੂੰਹ, ਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਦਾੜ੍ਹੀ ।
He Himself supports the Universe, revealing His All-powerful Creative Potency. He has no color, form, mouth or beard.
