ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜਨੀ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ—ਇਹ ਮਾਨੋ, ਮੈਂ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੁੰਦਰਾਂ ਪਾਈਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ । ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਯਥਾਰਥ ਗਿਆਨ—ਇਹ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੇ ਗੋਦੜੀ ਲਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ।
Let contemplation and intuitive meditation be your two ear-rings, and true wisdom your patched overcoat.
ਅਫੁਰ ਅਵਸਥਾ-ਰੂਪ ਗੁਫ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਮੈਂ ਆਸਣ ਲਾਈ ਬੈਠਾ ਹਾਂ (ਭਾਵ, ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਗੁਫ਼ਾ ਹੈ; ਜਿਥੇ ਮੈਂ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਧੰਧਿਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੋਈ ਫੁਰਨੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਠਣ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਇਕ ਏਕਾਂਤ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ) । ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਲਪਣਾ ਤਿਆਗ ਦੇਣੀਆਂ—ਇਹ ਹੈ ਮੇਰਾ (ਜੋਗ-) ਪੰਥ ।੧।
In the cave of silence, dwell in your Yogic posture; let the subjugation of desire be your spiritual path. ||1||
ਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਰਾਮਾਤੀ ਜੋਗੀਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਆਸਣ ਕਰਨੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਲਏ, ਜੇ ਕਾਮ-ਵਾਸਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ (ਆਸਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਭਿਆਸ ਦੀ) ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ
Even if one learns the Yogic postures of the Siddhas, and holds his sexual energy in check,
ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਹਿੰਦੀ, (ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਹਉਮੈ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ ।੨।
still, the filth of the mind is not removed, and the filth of egotism is not eliminated. ||2||
ਉਸ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਰੱਜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਆਪਦੀ) । (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਤੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਵਿਰਕਤ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ-ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਿਵ-ਲੀਨਤਾ ਦਾ ਉਹ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਆਸਣ ਵਿਛਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
Becoming the embodiment of meditation, he attains the true Yogic posture.
ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹ (ਉਸ ਵਿਰਕਤ ਦੀ) ਤਾੜੀ ਹੈ ।੨।
He focuses his consciousness in the deep trance of the True Name. ||2||
ਹੇ ਜੋਗੀ!) ਤੂੰ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ
You preach to the world, and set up your house.
ਮਨ ਦੀ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਗਵਾ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ-ਅਡੋਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ?
Abandoning your Yogic postures, how will you find the True Lord?
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ,
One who keeps the Naam in his heart has a permanent position.
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਤਖ਼ਤ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਅਡੋਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
