ਜੈਤਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥

Jaitsree, Fourth Mehl:

ਆਪੇ ਜੋਗੀ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਜੁਗਾਹਾ ॥

ਅੰਗ: ੬੯੯, ਮਃ ੪, ਜੈਤਸਰੀ

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੋਗੀ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਜੁਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋਗ ਦੀ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਹੈ,

He Himself is the Yogi, and the way throughout the ages.

ਆਪੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਤਾੜੀ ਲਾਹਾ ॥

ਆਪ ਹੀ ਨਿਡਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ

The Fearless Lord Himself is absorbed in Samaadhi.

ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਆਪੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਓੁਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥

ਸਭ ਥਾਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ।੧।

He Himself, all by Himself, is all-pervading; He Himself blesses us with sincere love for the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||

ਆਪੇ ਦੀਪ ਲੋਅ ਦੀਪਾਹਾ ॥

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਜ਼ੀਰੇ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਵਨ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਸਾਰੇ ਭਵਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਚਾਨਣ ਹੈ ।

He Himself is the lamp, and the Light pervading all the worlds.

ਆਪੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਮੁੰਦੁ ਮਥਾਹਾ ॥

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ) ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਇਸ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ) ਰਿੜਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ (ਵਿਚਾਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ) ਹੈ ।

He Himself is the True Guru; He Himself churns the ocean.

ਆਪੇ ਮਥਿ ਮਥਿ ਤਤੁ ਕਢਾਏ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਓੁਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੨॥

ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ) ਰਿੜਕ ਰਿੜਕ (ਵਿਚਾਰ-ਵਿਚਾਰ) ਕੇ (ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਮੱਖਣ (ਅਸਲੀਅਤ) ਲਭਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਰਤਨ ਵਰਗਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਪਣ ਦਾ) ਚਾਉ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨।

He Himself churns it, churning up the essence; meditating on the jewel of the Naam, sincere love comes to the surface. ||2||

ਸਖੀ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾਹਾ ॥

ਹੇ ਸਤਸੰਗੀਓ! ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਵੇ, ਆਓ, ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੀਏ

O my companions, let us meet and join together, and sing His Glorious Praises.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਹਾ ॥

ਹੇ ਸਤਸੰਗੀਓ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਜਪੋ, (ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਲਾਭ

As Gurmukh, chant the Naam, and earn the profit of the Lord's Name.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੀ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਓੁਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੩॥

ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੱਕੀ ਬਿਠਾ ਲਈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗੀ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ) ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।

Devotional worship of the Lord, Har, Har, has been implanted within me; it is pleasing to my mind. The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, brings a sincere love. ||3||

ਆਪੇ ਵਡ ਦਾਣਾ ਵਡ ਸਾਹਾ ॥

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬੜਾ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੈ

He Himself is supremely wise, the greatest King.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਹਾ ॥

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰੋ

As Gurmukh, purchase the merchandise of the Naam.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਤਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਗੁਣ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਓੁਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੦॥

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—) ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ) ਦਾਤਿ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼, ਜੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗੇ, ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਵੱਸੇ, ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਚਾਉ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ ।੪।੪।੧੦।

O Lord God, Har, Har, bless me with such a gift, that Your Glorious Virtues seem pleasing to me; Nanak is filled with sincere love and yearning for the Lord. ||4||4||10||

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ - Shabad Number 2652
