ਪਉੜੀ ॥

Pauree:

ਸੋ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ਜਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਉਪਦੇਸਿਆ ॥

ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਹੈ

One who has been instructed by the Guru is liberated in this world.

ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਗਈ ਬਲਾਇ ਮਿਟੇ ਅੰਦੇਸਿਆ ॥

ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ

He avoids disaster, and his anxiety is dispelled.

ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਜਗਤੁ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥

ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਸਾਰਾ) ਜਗਤ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ

Beholding the blessed vision of his Darshan, the world is over-joyed.

ਜਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ਪਾਪਾ ਮੈਲੁ ਧੋਇ ॥

ਉਸ ਜਨ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਜੀਵ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਧੋ ਕੇ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹ

In the company of the Lord's humble servants, the world is over-joyed, and the filth of sin is washed away.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਨਾਉ ਓਥੈ ਜਾਪੀਐ ॥

ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਅਮਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰੀਦਾ ਹੈ

There, they meditate on the Ambrosial Nectar of the True Name.

ਮਨ ਕਉ ਹੋਇ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਭੁਖਾ ਧ੍ਰਾਪੀਐ ॥

ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਬੰਦਾ ਭੀ ਓਥੇ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।

The mind becomes content, and its hunger is satisfied.

ਜਿਸੁ ਘਟਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਨਾਉ ਤਿਸੁ ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟੀਐ ॥

ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੇ) ਬੰਧਨ ਕੱਟੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ

One whose heart is filled with the Name, has his bonds cut away.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਵਿਰਲੈ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਖਾਟੀਐ ॥੫॥

ਪਰ, ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਖੱਟਿਆ ਹੈ ।੫।

By Guru's Grace, some rare person earns the wealth of the Lord's Name. ||5||
