ਪਉੜੀ ॥

Pauree:

ਕਾਇਆ ਕੋਟੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਮਿਲਣਾ ਸੰਜੋਗੀ ॥

ਮਨੁੱਖਾ-ਸਰੀਰ (ਮਾਨੋ,) ਇਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ,

The body is the fortress of the Infinite Lord; it is obtained only by destiny.

ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਵਸਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਆਪੇ ਰਸ ਭੋਗੀ ॥

ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ (ਕਿਤੇ ਤਾਂ) ਰਸ ਭੋਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,

The Lord Himself dwells within the body; He Himself is the Enjoyer of pleasures.

ਆਪਿ ਅਤੀਤੁ ਅਲਿਪਤੁ ਹੈ ਨਿਰਜੋਗੁ ਹਰਿ ਜੋਗੀ ॥

(ਕਿਤੇ) ਆਪ ਜੋਗੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਰਕਤ ਹੈ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਅਸਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਅਨ-ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੈ ।

He Himself remains detached and unaffected; while unattached, He is still attached.

ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਹੋਗੀ ॥

ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ

He does whatever He pleases, and whatever He does, comes to pass.

ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਵਿਜੋਗੀ ॥੧੩॥

ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰੀਏ ਤਾਂ (ਮਾਇਕ ਰਸ-ਰੂਪ) ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ (ਭਾਵ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ) ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।੧੩।

The Gurmukh meditates on the Lord's Name, and separation from the Lord is ended. ||13||
